Hi,
What is the easist way to deal with a Neut Tower in a amarr BC that is not set up to snipe at over 65km don't have the skills for that yet. I'm capstable at 38% and can snipe at 45 - 50km. Will I be able to date down the tower before cap runs out.

Fit a cap booster with plenty of charges. Keep an eye on your remaining charges so you can be sure of escaping before you run out. For missions with lots of neuting it is to bring a passive shield tanked ship with projectile weapons, so you don't need any cap at all. Sol: A microwarp drive? In a battleship? Are you insane? thanks for info, but I'm amarr and understood it that amarr ships is better at armor tanking and that you don't get a thing as a passive armor tank.
Is a passive tank possible with a BC for LV3, still working on getting my BS and skills to fit large lasers.

Well you could fit an AB and speed those 20 km to the towers and take them out first while you keep your cap up with some boosters.

There is no such thing as a passive armor tank. You could try a buffer tank but that will likely get you killed. Best bet is a cap booster and take out those towers fast. Then fly out, refit to normal and return to complete the mish. You can of course fit a passive shield tank on an amarr ship. I recall the arbitrator can fit a wicked shield tank with all those midslots. Sol: A microwarp drive? In a battleship? Are you insane? They arenÆt built for this! Clear Skies - The Movie

There's lots of options, what works best may depend on your skills and other circumstances.
One trick that can work is to pull any defending ships away from the neut towers and kill those first, then you don't need to fight everything at once.
In addition to using cap boosters you could try adding some more buffer to your armor, either armor plates or passive resists. While it won't make your tank hold up forever, it may give you enough time to kill the towers without the need to spend valuable cap for repping.
Also don't forget your drones, they work fine without cap.

Well, it depends a bit on the opposition, but it has a good chance as long as you try to keep range and keep moving and rely on your drones to take out the towers while you move around.
passive shield tanked arbitrator
you can also fit a Harbringer like this.
passive shield tanked harbringer (terrible fit but should work good for this particular problem)

Depends on the tower , but in my experience this is very hard to achieve with cap-using ship setups. Note that the cap recharge is not lineair (varies how much you have left, the more left, the slower recharge), so the peak cap recharge is somewhere arround 30-35 % cap capacity (ditto shield recharge). Edited by: Baka Lakadaka on 22/07/2010 03:08:06 In addition to the above advice:
Add some T2 drones to your arsenal. If you get capped out and can't use your lasers, the drones will keep shooting. Even if you don't get capped out, the drones add some extra DPS for a quick dispatch of the towers. ______________________ Agony Unleashed Home of the PvP University |

Edited by: Ferdi Faurie on 22/07/2010 07:01:53 Thanks for all the input guys and I was able to fit my Harb. with more then 50% cap stable while still having max DSP for my skill level :) and was able to "tank" the neut towers in a sence that I was recharging quicker then they where neuting, and took them out first while kitting the hords of frigs they triggered :). But got trough the mission in the end.

Nice! If I had posted in this thread yesterday, it would've been to tell you not to try that, try drones, or a cap booster, or something... Because i would've thought it would be hard to do, especially at limited skills. And I would've been wrong...
mind sharing the fit you used? might benefit a few people in the future. plus, it'd teach me something new... Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed dimensions of 400x120 pixels and filesize of 24000 bytes -Sahwoolo Etoophie |

Edited by: Ferdi Faurie on 22/07/2010 08:13:23 Ok Fit I used:
An as a new player I'm open to any imput :)
High: 7x Heavy Modulated Energy Beam I (With Radio Crystals)
Mids:
3x Cap Rechargers II 1x Y-S8 Hydrocarbon I
Lows:
2x N-Type Kenitic Harder I 2x N- Type Thermic Hardner I 1x Microcell Nanite Magnitic Membrane I 1x Meduim Armor Repairor II
Rigs:
3x CCC I
I have a +3% implant to boost the Powergrid out put so I could fit all the goodies, Thouse heavy turrets are hungry at my skill level .
Tactics used was warp in target neuter tower and align to nearest station. Did not use AB or Repairer at first resistance was good enough to tanks frigs and cruisers until I was ablt to take out 2 neut towers, htis also boosted my cap stable to way above 60%, at this point armor was down to about 50% very neurvise times now as I was also stasisÆed by 3 towers and about 3 century towers as well Started up rep and took out 3rd neut tower, then took out frigs and cruisers around me, then took out last neut tower then centuries and then stasis towers. After that is was just cleaning up remaining frigs Cruiser and a BS I think.

Pretty good fit! And the tactics looked kinda flawless there, which is probably what did the trick. Again, congratulations!
I'm pretty sure you already have Hull Upgrades, for those juicy t2 armor hardeners, in your skill plan somewhere? Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed dimensions of 400x120 pixels and filesize of 24000 bytes -Sahwoolo Etoophie |

Nah, no mind-reading involved. looking at your fit, training hull upgrades 5 would be the first suggestion I'd make... But since you had just proven you're smarter than me :) I assumed you were way ahead of that suggestion.
Btw: how are your drone skills, and what drones, if any, did you use in this case? Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed dimensions of 400x120 pixels and filesize of 24000 bytes -Sahwoolo Etoophie |

Drones I used where light scout drones x3 as I can only control 3 at the moment and the harb drone bay is onl 15 m3 but it's in the plan to get to tech II drones :) and yes they played a big part in getting the frigs that where closer then 5000m

Drone skills are pretty critical to battlecruisers and, especially, battleships in PvE... You already know how hard it is to hit frigates with medium laser... Now, imagine how hard it'll be to hit them with LARGE lasers... And, yeah, lvl4 missions are still crawling with frigs. And most of those will be doing nasty things to you, like webbing, neuting, targetpainting, or, worst of all, warp-scrambling... you'll need your drones...
BTW, harbinger has more drone bandwidth than you're currently using. it has 50, not 15... I've never heard of a battlecruiser or battleship with less than 25, IE enough for 5 lights... Sorry for some reason I had my Omen in my mind yes you right the Harb has 5 drones in it but I can only use 3 due to skill level
But is in the plan so by the time I'm in by BS and can fit it properly I will have tech II drones
