Right on. I have a whole hangar division called "Staff Lounge".
Though I like to think they're not all killing each other...

Its interesting to note how a Minmatari tribal based society can be transfered over to other races in a futuristic time line. While, currently there are clans in the "third world", they are rarely any sort of that in first world of today, this gives an ideal that has implications far reaching in socio-economic effects. For instance, it allows for greater diversity in leadership at a more local and substantial level that helps breeds leaders, though it is in a fictious universe, it could be reasonable to say that gives there lives greater stability and liking.
The Rites aside, a sub-culture government within a government reminds of a mixture of cyberpunk and laiss faire ideals, which is a fresh new spin to Eve Chronicles.
P.S. Never underestimate nerds, they can bite you in the ass in the realworld too.

Nice story, thank you.
What I'm thinking if the previous few chronicles has anything to go by is that we pod pilots may eventually end up hiring key personnel in the future.
This may be an extra way to avoid the saturation of skill points and implants that will exist in time when everyone has reached the maximum limits their ship is capable of delivering, by introducing a (small) % bonus with an ISK sink in the form of wages/food&board.
Or have I just had too many jaffa cakes on the night shift?

Wonderful story, really reminds me of the times I just rip people out of structures I blew up for fun during mission... Would it be better if I just ended them then and there? Hmmm... The influx of all these effects Capsuleers have are really... Enlightening and interesting.

Ha!
Always thought that my junk filled station containers would develop life on their own, sooner or later.
But I was rather thinking of molds and bacteria colonies. Not entire human societies, with rules, ranks, and succession wars.
The day CCP will implement "Sim-container", I know I'll pass my days watching my tourists breed with help from prostitutes, trying to avoid mutations from the enriched uranium I store there... --- Kat |

Really enjoyed this one. I so wish CCP would make the whole Incarna/Dust thing more RP/PvE orinetated so as to utilise some of the Eve backstory more.

Great writing. Enjoyed it a lot! But the ending of "Second" dissapointed me very much ... I was expecting the reactions of the tribe.

And it is interesting to see how at least one group of them views the Capsuleer that brought them there.

CCP has state that their ultimate goal is COMPLETE sci-fi simulator, so of course the dealings of an individual cargo containers population will be an expansion:P

40 marines eh? Well if she can't get work as a prostitute, maybe now she can moonlight as a small cargo container.

Who said the prostitute is a "she"?
And who said the 40 marines are "he"s?
The other way around is far more interesting! --- Kat |

Good to see CCP fleshing out the society that exists between the cracks. The more details now, the more easily the cruelty on the top can be rationalized. +1 [IF you think still EvE is a model of a non-violent society, please htfu.]
Every tradition has a reason...sometimes*.
I just finished a particularly interesting anime that had this sort of future-tribal-survival society in place. Jyu-oh-Sei[King of the Beasts] Lord of The Files meets Pilot Candidate. Only 11 eps too, apparently, the studio didn't like it...it was disturbingly dark and had all the nasty politics of said tribalism[even the in the civilized human colonies]. It's on Hulu.
*Some of my killmails have 2 Slaver Hounds and an Exotic Dancer on them.
