CCP will only listen up when the isk stops rolling in. DUST is taking precidence over eve (PI anyone?), unfortunately as we have all invested alot of our time, money and effort into the gains shown in eve (SP, SOV, Empires etc) they ahve us by the nuts. The PI thing is intended to get people dependent on planetary minerals so dust players come along and take them away, meaning eve players then go buy DUST as well to keep the income going (at least im guessing thats the scheme). Lag is making the game unplayable for me and tbh, im not sure im going to keep paying for something thats not delivering what it advertises itself to do. i noticed the shift on gameplay emphasis to PVE more and more, perhaos this due to PVP being so server intensive? I really dont expect a decent response to the issue as I am one amongst many, however if it isnt fixed I will make sure that I and my buddies put comments on every single comments section of every review site that covers eve including Steam etc. And no, I will nto be voting untill the game is fully fixed. |

Edited by: Zaxos385 on 28/07/2010 19:40:52 I would say CCP needs to listen to their paying members and fix the game and improve the quality of their customer service. Love this game some of the worst customer service i have seen anywhere at any point. Does CCP even care about the people that fund them? I will vote when they focus on fixing the current issues.

Tbh CCP, you are going the way EA went with C&C and other amazing franchises. Pushing expansions out with little care for the community and needing the cash from new subbers is milking a product that needs some TLC. After reading the CSM notes and making excuses that the resources have already been allocated is ridiculous, and being that EVE is the flagship product doesn't set a good standard nor a good enough response to the players that, well, pay your wage. If the resources have been allocated then unallocate them and go back to what you love doing - making better than great games.
Allocating time and resources is difficult in this particular era, but if you execute this you'll win back the players, the community and you can expect DUST 514 to sell better than ever.
WE DON'T WANT YOU TO KILL THIS GAME BY POOR MANAGEMENT DECISIONS.

I love the game still but....
See you in 18 months when you you have to make the decision to fix Incarna/Dust514 bugs or go back and fix the ones you left behind in the other expansions.
Let us know and we'll let you know how we feel about it.

Like I said I value eveyone's opinions. My opinion about the game stands.
FYI I keep playing this game because I paid a few $1000 over the years and I still love it and really care about it. Problem is the game is BROKEN atm. Why can't you understand that?
I relent. If the only part of the game that gave me joy didn't work, I'd be angry too. Granted, I'd leave rather than shovel reactant into a threadnought.
Which, incidentally, gives rise to an absurd truth: If everyone who complained about lag quit, there'd be no lag.
Wait a minute.
No you wait. We HAD "nice" (notice I didn't say perfect) fleet fights before Dominion, and they took it away from us. Every normal functioning company would revert the stuff that broke the original gameplay. But not CCP. They say its "spacial anomalies".
And for you information: I won't quit this game but, and that's sad, the only reason for me now to keep involved is the sheer amount of RL money and 100's of hours I invested in this game.

Eve is a great game and has come a long way since its creation and i believe it still has a ways to go. I went and looked at the requirements for nomination and heres what it says...
* must have been released within a year before the award giving ceremony on one of the most important European games markets (England, France, Germany, Spain or Italy) or must have been released online, with exception only for the EGA Most Wanted category and the Special Prizes (Hall of Fame, Special Achievement) - here the organizer Aruba nominates the games in agreement with its media partners.
This has not been released within the past year so... with that saaid, this game already won awards and needs to give the new guys a chance to win it.

The main problem is :
If you play that game for 2-4 years, you simply can't quit it. CCP has made you a kind of junkie. You've popped serious Ca$h in this game, and they know that.
Compare EvE Staff from 4 years ago, and what we have today. They have our problems in their deep wormholes... They know, that you will pay, whatever will be.
And that made "quit game" so hard.

I brought up this specific thread in this morning's EVE marketing meeting, and it will appear in my "EVE press mention roundup" email either later today or tomorrow, which is widely read throughout CCP.
Not only marketing team should get it, the scale and the dangers of the current problems with eve should be clear to anyone who has anything to do with making decisions and implementing them - everyone in CCP, I suppose. Especially executives.
If problems not fixed and more things implemented - you get rolling ball of problems. Current development policy and distribution of resourses will ruin eve even more.
To be honest, the marketing team seems to be out of touch with reality, if they have something to do with that mad priorities in development. Are you sure you hired no guys who worked with Lucas before?;)

If there is ever a vote to choose the game with the worst customer service let me know and I'll vote.
When you have your GM's lying to justify the loss of billions of isk you certainly don't deserve an award for excellence.
Example "I am afraid that we cannot reimburse losses suffered within fleet battles. This is a matter of policy I am afraid. This policy was put in place in the interest of fairness, as players enter fleet battles knowing that they will suffer from the side effects of the extremely heavy load. In addition, the heavy load affects all players in the battle equally, meaning that reimbursing individual players would upset the game balance."
Anyone who has ever been in 0.0 knows the effects are not equal which is why so many die without ever getting a shot off.

Regarding addiction, we've now come full circle, and that's my queue to abandon my investment in this thread and retire in defeat.

I get more entertainment from Eve forum drama than I do from actually playing this spatially distorted game, so no vote from me.
There are two reasons I continue to subscribe:
1. My friends in CVA.
2. Playing a game apparently designed by Franz Kafka has a certain amount of novelty value.

18 months.
On a serious note, I'd guess that over in teh CCP headquarters, most of the devs look at a thread like this and wonder where they ever went so wrong that when they ask for support they just get trolled by people from every state of the game. Then I bet there's a few guys who are like "there will always be haters, we have to move forward with what's best for the company." Unfortunately those few guys are going to be the downfall of eve. It's very possible that you'll make us wait so long for a good game, that when DUST comes out, we'll do our best to make it unplayable. We'll suicide DUST players, we'll troll the **** out of them, and we'll make these last few years an absolute waste. You're really getting us to that point CCP. You'd better make those npcs in DUST really fun, because if you keep ****ting our game up, DUST console ***s will not have any fun playing with us. -----------

I love the game but i shall not vote for Eve Online, there is no evidence on my end that it deserves my vote. Also, my policy on voting is very strict an therefore my hands are tied. I hope this helps you improve your game and that you recover quickly from the loss of this vote. Best regards, Spottington Subscriber To Eve Online

WTF kind of troll is this.
Your game is broken, you've openly admitted to not doing anything about the core of the game (lol walking in stations, PI, DUST, etc....) for 18 months and you post this?
No way am I voting for Eve, this game is following the path of SWG. Wake up and realize it before it's too late.

Thats not a reason to keep feeding money to a company for a broken product.
Look at it this way, you've paid and had your fun and now that time is over, move on. People unsubbing is unfortunately the only way that CCP is really going to get any sort of clue that what they are doing is bad for buisness.
I've been playing since 2004, ever since hearing about the 18 months thing I've been wondering why I'm sticking around. I can't seriously entertain the possibilty of paying to support some other game that I have no interest in being developed while the game I'm interested in playing is left to languish for 18 MONTHS.
So yeah, some random people around eve are about to receive some unexpected isk/module/ship pressies from me before I tuck away that capsule for good. -----

I am currently using all my time i would usually spend playing eve, playing the Beta of World of Tanks. It is a very good game, and i suspect will be very sucessful. And given the amount of eve players i see playing it tells me that alot of people have deceided eve is not as important now due to the fact eve isnt very playable these days.
I log in once every 4 days to sort my POS's for a hour or so, but other than that i hardly play, and suspect i wont until the game is fixed.
The only way CCP will realise what a balls up there making is if a large portion of eve players stop playing, and make them realise how badly there decission making is affecting there current income.
