so...incarna will fall onto WhitwWholf ?
CCP is trying to build on EvE`s success without really understanding where that success comes from imho
It comes from the fanatic comunity and the player driven and made content , not from the PI , eve gate and other sort of trash trinkets . Take the fanatical part of the comunity and the player driven content (0.0 , alliances, politics , and the market that depends on them) and you`ll be left with a subpar game even when compared to free mmo`s , with a similar comuity to free mmo`s ...people playing trial+ 1-2 months maybe till they get into battleships...then move on to the next shiny
If you really wanna turn eve into a theme park where the main attractions are new shiny things....you`re doing a **** poor job at that too. WoW adds more shiny things in 1 expansion then eve did in all expansions put together since 2008 .
So make up your mind and let us know CCP
what is it? Will you try to keep eve alive or just use it to launch your new stuff , and mutilate/trash it beyond any recognizable form in doing so? Either way , you should know by now that EvE comunity is unique and probably most people associate EvE with its comunity and NT with CCP
This comunity is what won you awards after awards and kept the game on all sorts of tops. This comunity is just as able to kill this game forever.
AT least agnolege us and give us a f u c k k in straight answer

Killing time until the rice is cooked ;) :
"18 Months" is a long time for a game, even for eve. There is a long list of cornerstones that hold eve together, such as 0.0 sov warfare, lowsec piracy and faction warfare, empire production but also wars etc. etc.
But many of these cornerstones still need work or could just be so much more enjoyable if they were improved. Ill start with the obvious,
0.0 Sov warfare, it was a big mistake to implement a system that requires the attacker and defender to be in one system. A better system wouldve been based of occupance instead of shooting structures, it would have also supported new groups moving into 0.0 as most alliances hold large areas of space but use little of it. It wouldve also made industrialists more supportive to 0.0 alliances.
Lowsec, it needs a purpose that is different to empire and 0.0, currently it cannot compete to either. Forcing 0.0 dwellers to cross lowsec when moving to/from empire is a start, but also a bounty hunting system and pve content that kills your security status.
Faction warfare, consequences for won and lost systems is a start, also balanced npcs, more interesting missions and complexes that spawn over the day and not mostly after downtimes. This is a major stepping stones for newbies, how you just leave it unattended is a mysterie to me.
Empire, wars need an overhaul, from costs to neutral logistics but also a proper blackmail system that works for both sides.
Various others would be: - capital movement changed so that capfleets cant be moved throughout eve as easily as it can be done now. - Many mods and ships only purpose in eve is to be used in t2 production, whole roles are inaccessible to new players as the ships for those arent worth bothering. - UI needs improvement in many areas, often small things which are a nuisance, but still.. - Mining as a profession has a hard time to compete with others in terms of isk but is also hardly fun. Improvements have been shown in fanfests but nothing followed. Many Newbies try mining out, not the best first impression they can get from eve.
These and many other things would make eve shine were they worked on, some are easily done i suppose some would be major expansions - but eve is worth it to you, isnt it? -

(continuing)
It`s my opinion allso that whatever ****head came up with the famous statistic that 80% of the active CHAACTERS are in empire did EvE as a whole a HUGE disservice
1) how do you define active character? just a character on an active account? A character that logs in x times/week? a character that does y stuff? what stuff? I have 2 accnts left , thus 6 characters...do all 6 count in that statistic?
Out of those 2 are in 0.0 and 4 are in empire. How is that fatored in the beancouting statistics?
Why 4 in empire? because i have no reason to get all of them to 0.0! I can farm well enough in empire with them!
I think i know a lot of people in eve , and i can safely say that with 2 accnts i`m in the minority....most ppl i know have 3 + , and the spread of characters on there accnts is similar
I`m in a large alliance, and i`m quite confident everyone and there dog has at least 50% of there characters in Empire , trading alts , mission *****s, etc etc
Fact is , even if i`m a 0.0 player , there`s NOTHING for me to do in 0.0 with all my characters
I`m allso quite confident that the vast majority of PLAYERS in eve are in one way or another involved in the "alliance politics" , be it 0.0 grunts or independant pirates/mercs (you guys all know that roams eventually end up in some 0.0 alliance`s sov systems hopin to catch ratters or trigger a response fleet you can handle) Look at lowsec : You can pew-pew there...why not/ No reason to be there....so it`s empty. Can you see the same fate for 0.0 if things keep heading the way they do?
TL;DR
Im sure most of the eve PLAYERS are 0.0 or highly dependant on whats goin on there even if they dont fully realize that
I`m allso sure that the vast silent empire majority is vastly made up of armies of alts grinding missions for isk for the mains to spend in 0.0
I`m allso sure that people who dont get involved one way or another in alliance politics never play past 6 months and thats VERY generous assumption
CCP , fire all your useless beancounters!

I, too, am eagerly awaiting paying money so I can be a beta tester and/or Quality Assurance Technician.
Interesting, of course, that they can't look at any of the aborted fleet fights and need people to sign on for QA work on the test server. But, I suppose... the logs? They show nothing. ------------------------------------------------

If I were an investor right now, I would contact the guy doing Infinity, set him up with a team to finish up his game and the server infrastructure needed to run it, and announce a finish date anywhere within the next 18 months. The way CCP is going right now, I don't think they would survive that.

Neither does throwing resources into developing all the faff such as PI instead of throwing those resources into fixing the worsening lag crap.
Once the lag is reduced to the pre Tryrannis levels, when we could have 1200 ships ion a fight, then I well vote for them. Until then, no way. Note this is my opinion, not that of my corp or alliance ============== Office use ONLY ==============

Not voting for, nor against. I love the concept of Eve but the execution has lost it's path.
Fix lag and fix the Mac client. In the mass email out from Apple the other day regarding the new iMac, your screen shot was there as a showcase, you could at least make the thing work bug free.

why CCP would put support for the mac client so far on the back burner is beyond me.
Im no apple fan boy, however I do own an iphone :)
However to drop support for the 2nd most popular OS in the world just boggles the mind. ------- "The Lord loosed upon them his fierce anger All of his fury and rage. He dispatched against them a band of Avenging Angels" - The Scriptures, Book II, Apocalypse 10:1

Yup... The award has been shared between the makers of the game-series, Total War and CCP for EVE Offline (since dominion-release).
They are both outstanding in not taking feedback from the community seriously and to deliver "games" not even qualified as beta-version to the customerbase.

Im no apple fan boy, however I do own an iphone :)
However to drop support for the 2nd most popular OS in the world just boggles the mind.
Net Applications has just released their July figures for OS share, so their figures might give you a clue.
The report is here but the tl;dr is that OSX 10.5/10.6 has a 4.3% share of the operating system market.
Out of that 4.3% of potential customers how many play games? Not that many given the Macs traditional userbase. Out of those who do, how many play Eve?
CCP make stunningly bad decisions a lot (most) of the time but I'm not at all sure this is one of them.
The report indicates that the OSX market is stagnant really - no growth at all, in fact it "shrunk" by 0.3% in the last 3-4 months, although that's got more to do with increased PC (Windows 7) sales I guess.
