PIE is highly recommended to any Amarr role playing types out there, even by a war enemy :)
They generally do not smack in local and conduct well executed PvP operations.
My only critisism is that they will not engage in even fights normally, but must hold a significant advantage to engage. Then again, many or most PvP corps out there are this way as well so perhaps this is status quo.
Good luck in your recruitment PIE ______________________________________________ "Every battle is won or lost before it is ever fought." -Sun Tsu |

heh noitulos we engage in uneven fights all the time... usually the odds are against us.
One of my favorite fleet engagements I have ever been a part of was a few months ago in Yulai. We went on a patrol of minnie space, and they did a remarkable job getting a counterfleet together.
We pulled back our ships from Onga to Yulai to prevent being cut off and to gather a couple more battleships and setup to defend the Orapheh(sp?) gate against all who might come. Well we had 16 or so ships, with maybe half of them being battleships and we found ourselves holding that gate against well over 25 minnie ships.
In a battle like that it feels like time stretches out. You watch you target list and just target one after another as you hear each name called. What lasted less than 5 minuits will feel like three times that as you target one enemy after another and lay into them trying to force their ships destruction or retreat.
You watch as either your friends ships or your enemies wink one by one off your scanner as both sides strive to be the ones left standing on the battlefield.
Eventually in such a fight one side gives. The enemies on your scanner thin out and eventually there is only one or two left. And then of course they wink out of existance in a hail of lasers as well. And you look at the wreckage and feel the adrenaline beggining to wear off.
In that particular battle it was our ships who still held at the gate when the dust cleared. For a battle in which around 40 ships had been involved in the casualties were fairly light. On our side we lost one Geddon, on theirs we killed something like 3 battleships and a few cruisers. That time we won, others we have lost. The thing in common with all engagements is that they are damn fun.
PIE is what PIE is. And I dare say that I have never gamed with a better bunch of people. If you want PvP and RP at the same time and are Amarran, it is hard to go wrong with these guys.

We are most active during peak euro hours.
It is one of the reasons we started this thread as we would like to strengthen our presence in other timezones.
We have US pilots but they are sometimes fairly lonely and we want to the US wing to become as lethal as the Euro - not least because one of our respected enemies is a (mainly) US timezone corp and they get it to easy when the Euros log off

Well, if you're an Amarrian RP-er who lives in a US time-zone and wants to spank Minnies, then this is about as golden as opportunities get.

Edited by: Gracchus on 22/12/2004 20:29:53 Pie is most definitely the place to be if you are looking to add a little objective and meaning to your piloting skills. I have spent time as an independent Ni-Kunni and have never had as much fun as when flying with PIE and being a part of the games largest conflict that is not about 0.0 ...Amarr vs. Minnies.
The money grubbing treadmill that the universe can become gets lost in a larger context.
So much for waxing philosophically.....it is dam fun.

I have to aplogize for that one.. It`s not PIE that smack talk..It`s their allies from Amax.. A shame for PIE, i actually thought it was smack from PIE and lost all respect for them after the first fight.. After having it explained i gained a bit of respect for them again..Just get rid of Amax now and you guys will rock..
And btw, Amax is a amarr corp with caldari members..Explain? _______________________________________________

Hehe, no offense taken.
In all my next to omnipotent wisdom, I'll indulge you regarding AMAX, although this thread was meant as a recruitment drive for PIE ;)
The AMAX - Amarria Auxillia - was formed from the core of Blacksheep Squadron, a former mercenary corporation, who took the grace of Amarr onto themselves, and claimed loyalty to the Empire and our divine traditions.
Being former mercenaries, they took upon themselves the name of Auxiliaries, to emphasise their foreign nature on the side of God ;)
Although they fight for the Empire, their barbarian legacy drives the AMAX to fight the good fight in other ways than for example PIE.
Their rabid commitment to the cause cannot be denied, and I would trust most AMAX to fly on my wing anyday.
Who knows Zeron, they might be your best choice for redemption! :) ----------------------------------------------

I was not intending to flame your corp, I apologize if that is how it appeared. I was simply stating what I see when I'm online.
That being said, we've had lots of fun fighting against PIE and CVA. PIE are clean fighters and do not smack, which holds them in high regard in my book. ______________________________________________ "Every battle is won or lost before it is ever fought." -Sun Tsu |
