I'm fairly sure I saw a CCP dev say they had no intention of doing anything like RealID.
Quote: Whats going on in general
They're working on Lag, Dust, Incarna. What's new?
Quote: Any updates from CCP tanis and his module lag fighting friend.
Their facebook page a few days ago showed a picture of a hundred Maelstroms with civ lasers attacking an Avatar. Apparently the thin client technology is going pretty nicely. :)
What I'd like to see is an official well thought out response to all the nerdrage on these here forums. Go back and look at historic threads where CCP asked us to vote Eve "best-MMO". I think you'll see a much different atmosphere. Eve's management needs to reconnect with its player base.

2 weeks between a dev blog isn't so bad... nothing out of the ordinary.
CCP shouldn't respond to the nerd rage. MMO communities always hate change, CCP focusing on Incarna was bound to create massive nerd rage, and there's nothing they can do to appease them (except improve server performance)

Its true, fixing the server lag would go a long ways towards calming the nerdrage. But its not like Incarna is new. No, whats new is CCP releasing pretty features that are either sub-par or horribly break other things (New Sov/PI/Nano Nerf+Rockets/Misc game balance changes).

Ed: Ultimately what I'm trying to say here is that there's a lot CCP could do with low cost to calm the nerdrage - or have prevented it outright. A few fringe crackpots saying "Eve is dying" get "lol eve is dying" responses. Entire 0.0 alliances raging is entirely new - and unnecessary. -- Eve Forum ***** Extraordinaire On Twitter Blog

I'm not gonna lie: I'm very ****ed of at CCP at the moment. On the other hand I'm also not that hard to please. All I'm asking is that CCP commits to fixing lag with all the resources and power they can muster. This could mean: make a dev blog explaining that all the devs have pretty much dropped every other project for the time being to try and fix lag. The graphics designers and devs that don't have the knowledge to help fixing lag can still continue to work on their future projects but all the "useful resources" should be instantly allocated to fixing lag.
Even if this only a PR-move that doesn't really make the situation better - at least it would show that CCP is commited to fixing the problems.
What they did now is the opposite. Releasing a devblog that clearly shows that the emphasis are being put on totally other things that most of the community feel is a waste of time.
And you can't really blame us can you? We constantly get new features thrown at us by CCP that are half-finished, badly designed, not though-through and always get the promise "in future iterations we'll be extending it to make it worthwhile". Sadly this is simply untrue. CCP implemented FW with the promise that it was only a first version etc. Did they ever do anything with FW again? The same goes for PI. And the same will happen with Incarna and Dust (though in the case of Dust this strategy won't work because console gamers are far less forgiving then us hardcore EVE fans).

That depends entirely on how much sixty bucks is worth to you. I enjoyed it, and I'm planning on dabbling with the multiplayer too.

Since it is possible to play with the beta for free (just solo player VS AI), I will try it before spending so much money on it.

Is this supposed to be funny? Because it isn't.
Your customers (you know, those noobs that pay your wages) are angry because your product sucks and is unplayable atm. But instead of committing to improving it (after 9 months of unbearable fleet lag) you come here and make jokes about you playing games instead of getting your finger out.
So basically what you are saying is "screw you, go play a decent game like SC2".
Way to put your customers minds at ease. ___________________ "It was mentioned by CCP that the data does not seem to support that polished quality sells better than new features."

So what you're saying here is that because you're on nerdrage-mode (which is somewhat understandable) CCP employees are not allowed to have summer vacation now and do stuff they enjoy and instead should work 23/7 to make your mission running or mining experience more profitable isk/hr wise. And you're also saying that CCP employees should never ever appear to be human beings. I like what you do.

I have no problems with them doing whatever they want during their free time. I just have a problem with having my nose rubbed in the fact that CCP don't give a **** about me as a customer and with being made fun of.
When my customers whine at me because I didn't do my job properly then the last thing I'd do is go provoke them by telling them that I'm off to go play some game (even if I'm on vacation).
Just shows you the kind of respect you can expect from CCP as long-term paying customer.
Thanks a lot. Really makes me feel like re-subbing. That's for sure.
PS. Sadly my boss is currently on vacation himself so your message would likely come to me. ___________________ "It was mentioned by CCP that the data does not seem to support that polished quality sells better than new features."

As CCP Atropos and CCP Greyscale have said, many CCP employees take vacation during July and August after which we all go into "hardcore mode" and focus n the upcoming winter release. As with any new expansion, Dev Blogs will come thick and fast in the next few months as we approach the release date.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the progress. I certainly have many new things to try out on the next mass test - things that show promise when tested against the thin clients.
Anyways, back to work with me.
