Edited by: Sombike on 03/08/2010 18:19:17 Why the hell do u need to TEST anything? Everyone already knows that the fleet finder or whatever gay "feature" was added in the last patches is the problem that needs removing/fixing. Roll back to year 2008 (good goon hunting year) and start doing things right ffs ...

why test? just roll back, it's not like they added anything great from dominion on. New sov sucks, it's broken and despite numerous bug reports and petitions they don't want to fix it, and they tell you to **** off when you petition. No one gives a **** about PI and it sucks, just go back to apoc and we're all ******dorey.
And you do realize that ccp makes millions of dollars a month in revenue, yes I want them to spend some of that on bug testers, maybe they could take it away from the new content devs cause what they're doing is unimportant anyways. Or the GMs because volunteer ones would be better then them, or fire the forum mods, because the volunteer forums mods certainly used to do a better job and be a lot less **** about it too.
Also protip: might as well shutdown dust too cause it's gonna fail. Not only does it look like crap expecting it to have any longevity is unrealistic, even crap like halo doesn't keep players forever, why would console players care at all about us?

20:00 UTC is 21:00 UK time, I'm uk based and start work at 07:00 so I'm up for 05:00, so 21:00 start times are useless for me, the last one I tried to attend was a few months ago and was all ready and waiting and nothing happened, or at least nothing happened until at least 21:30 uk time, so I had about 30 mins left before pc's get switched off for the night.
You think that's bad? 20.00 Thursday is 06.00 Friday for me. But I'll still do my best to get there, and just head into work late.
The previous one was at 18.00 UTC. Good thing for alarm clocks...
And since when did we all forget about this?

Got on SISI for a few. My issues.
1. Overview doesn't update after jumping gates. Solved by having 2 overview tabs, shifting back and forth once "solves it". 2. No drone-UI? Open dronebay, select drones-> launch drones-> Drone-UI appears. 3. No shortcut keys. NONE. Forget F1-F8, forget it all, doesn't work. Mouse...hello, carpal tunnel-friend.
Even betas are better, maybe even alphas.
Not usable.

Please do not state perceptions as facts. They are not the same. If you have something to contribute to the benefits or consequences of testing, then add that here.
I will be unable to make the test, and I would like to suggest that Eve streamline the procedure. Let me click enter test server from log in, or opt into it from account services.

Making it easier to access SISI was "at the top of the hitlist" for CCP Tanis in February. In July CCP Explorer basically said "accessing SISI is easy enough, what do you want to change?".
Looking at the total lack of progress and CCP Zulu's devblog I say you will have Incarna before you get a change in the way you access SISI.

You get to try things out before there release, and more people = more bug reports = better data to make fix's.
If they didn't have the resources to hire someone outside the company then how the hell are they involved in making two other games? That is what I would like to know. If you think about taking those two projects away would mean they "might" have the resources to get some help outside the company to fix this.
Not only that I believe being in Iceland hurts the companies chance of really getting top notch people in the door. Should be based out of EU or the US.

The "new" update is an update to the current staging branch where we are doing a UI corification. Tomorrow there will be a new build on Sisi from the hotfix branch. This will not have any of the new UI issues currently on Sisi. You will have to make a new copy of the TQ build and patch from there since there will be no patch from today's Sisi build to the one tomorrow. You can check this gentleman's page and when the branch for sisi says HOTFIX then you are good to go with patching. Which will be tomorrow afternoon. I hope this make this a bit more understandable.

Haha **** you. We pay for a service, we don't pay to work for CCP. In no way is it the players' fault that lag hasn't been fixed, and if CCP were that commited to fixing it they would have hired some actual professionals to look into this, instead of begging their paying cutomers to do the work for them.
tl;dr: **** you and die
I see someone's brain decided to hit the "Eject" button. The simple answer is that CCP does not have enough manpower to run these mass tests on their own as well as wanting the tests to be as realistic as possible, personally I enjoy EvE and I am prepared to take a little bit of my time to make it a better game.

The attendance to the mass tests to find this elusive lag has been abysmal, so you only have your selves to blame, after all it can't be that bad if can't even be be bothered to help CCP reproduce the problem & find the cause on the test server.
If you disagree, instead of crying a river of tears on the forum, HTFU, prove me wrong and join the mass test on Thursday.

Uh what? Are you high or something? CCP physically cannot do it without help, they can't magically acquire enough people to do a proper test, they need our help.

Joining will this time make a change ?
I will go to test server again when I will help a feature list to test !
CCP can't you simulate the players actions based on the recorded information you have from the last big fleets ? Do you ? Please give us some more oinformation about your way between the Test and not only result saying it's better.
On my view when you ask player to join on the test server it mutch be Alpha test close to the Beta test, no ?

Please see Lemur's post about the fact we will be using EVE-HOTFIX for tomorrow's mass-test, and not EVE-STAGING where the bugs currently are.
And most of the items you list are already resolved internally, as people are back from holiday :)

Gah, had a hell of a time getting sisi up and running yesterday and now you tell me I'll have to do it again. So much for me being well prepared so I'd just have to log in as the test is literally 15 minutes after I expect to be home from work :-(
CCP dudes, any chance you could freeze sisi's client version for maybe 48 hours before these scheduled tests in the future? I know it wouldn't always be possible, but at least strive for it so people can prepare at a convenient time?

Remember most of the forum posters have the attention span and tempers of a 5 year old that wants candy from the market check out lane.
But for those of you that are unable to read. Tonight - Make a copy of your tq folder. 2 hours before mass test - download the tq to sisi patch and install it as at this time sisi will be fixed and will not have the overview bugs.

Terrible planning I must say, I told everyone to prepare their clients early(like today) so they wouldnt get trouble tomorrow. This will be a reason why only 20% of the people that would have attend will eventually join up.

just an example to support the reply that i originally posted that ccp quickly deleted. Have fun with your "mass" testing. You wouldnt think you would need to tell professional developers to code freeze a sufficient time before a mass testing event that needs to be coordinated like this.
