hi -
So, I'm far from technical but have really enjoyed industry in EvE and have built myself a ridiculously complex spreadsheet to track what I'm doing but have run into two issues that I was hoping someone might be able to shed light on:
1. Is there a way of importing price data from an external source so that I could bring in (say) the average sell price from Jita and Essence, instead of manually updating this?
2. Is there a tool or a website that can give me a breakdown of my sales, so that I know if I'm selling the same item in 3 markets, how much the average sales price of that item is?
Thanks in advance ~ Janu

Edited by: Steve Celeste on 10/08/2010 09:32:07 Wyke Mossari uses it in his PI sheet, but the columns doing the actual work seem to be hidden. https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0Ar_YTOcXpvb9dE95N3Y1ckdjWkVMTGxGM05NU1c0TWc&hl=en_GB#gid=19
Basic idea is that a few columns are concatenated to make a URL to eve-metrics.

This really should be in the technology lab, where it would have gotten an answer quite quickly.
You can expose the hidden columns on my spreadsheet, copy the spreadsheet (so that you can edit). Then look at the prices tab and click the sideways pointing arrows.

Thank you both very much and sorry for the inaccurate posting.

As mentioned prior, tech lab would have been a better idea, but basically here is what a google docs API call looks like (just copy and paste that into an empty cell):
=ImportXML("http://www.eve-metrics.com/api/item.xml?type_ids=34,35,36,37,38,39,40®ion_ids=10000002", "/evemetrics/type/region/sell/simulated")
You can also use excel to do the exact same thing, I just hate the way it handles XML imports.
This will give you the simulated sell price for all the mins in The Forge, if you wanted to add regions add them as needed. Replace simulated with average if you want the average price. If you want the raw xml, copy and paste http://www.eve-metrics.com/api/item.xml?type_ids=34,35,36,37,38,39,40®ion_ids=10000002 into a new browser tab.
Also have a look at the eve-metrics API documentation for all kinds of fun stuff: http://www.eve-metrics.com/api/
