So what's your opinion on this? Moar better ships and better game play versus 2nd life in stations? Is Incarna a waste of GM's time or not? Is it going to be another phail gimmick like factional warfare? Posting this in C&P cause I want C&P readership opinion. What say you? Signature removed for not being EVE related. Zymurgist |

My opinion is that you post this where it should be so we don't have to read crap like this. - I'd tell you why but then I'll have to kill you. And to kill you I'd have to log in. And to log in I'd have to stop browsing these forums. Both you and me knows that'll never happen. |

I don't hate the idea of incarna, but I do think the ROI on it (in terms of quality of gameplay) will be extremely low. --------------- Faction-Militia:Player-Alliance::Newbie-corp:Player-corp |

Agreed. Aside from maybe attracting a demographic who may be more interested in that aspect of the game I can't see the real value in it (aside from making docking slightly more interesting). Personally, I'd rather see the bounty hunting mechanic effectively overhauled that could make Incarna much, MUCH, more interesting.

I'm looking forward to Incarna. Anything that brings more players to the game without making it more kid-friendly is a plus in my book.
I don't consider Incarna "kid-friendly" since it will supposedly not allow frivolous emotes, giant skull wearing orcs, etc. and will instead include bars and strip clubs, even the possibility of drug abuse. The whole store thing might be junk, but I'll withhold judgment until I can test it out.
Plus, being able to negotiate a deal "face to face" will add a whole new facet to our corp's gameplay.
Just sad that we can't see ships outside the station through windows, and the lack of any kind of combat ability. I'd settle even for some way to bribe station security to toss a pilot and his ship out the undock port.
I'd really love to see some kind of revamp of the POS structures along with the ability to actually board the POS like a mini-station.

You are forgetting the law of unintended consequences. Bringing people into EVE via interest in Incarna will in my opinion, inevitably lead to a group of people whose interest in the space aspects of it are not as strong as ours. They will then get blown up a few times like all nubs do, but since they are a bigger interest group than ever before, you can expect to start seeing loud protest from the new superbears.
Within a period of time, I'm guessing 6 months, we'll see the effect these SuperBears have on the game in some dumbing down and kid friendly changes. So I would have to disagree with you. I think Incarna is making this game kid friendly, AKA bear friendly.
I'm also claiming the term SuperBear as coined by me.

That might be true, but surely there must be some affect of Incarna itself being a darker and more mature environment than most other MMO's. Regardless, I hope that the "superbears" don't come rushing in too forcefully. I've already been disappointed with Verizon and Google lately; I'd hate to add CCP to that list.
Fake Edit: I'm also claiming the term UltraBear as coined by me.

I think Incarna is going to be a cool adition. Not the best thing CCP could be doing right now but at the same time, it's been in development for SO long, to say no to it now really would be a waste of all previous subscription money.
CCP needs to sort themselves out AFTER Incarna and not a minute later.
Having said that, part of me wonders if CCP is deliberately changing the game ot TRY and get some older players to get disgruntled and leave and bring some new blood in. Brings down the average skill level of players, frees up more space for newer people to learn and, in extreme cases, even makes more 0.0 space free for people to actually try and take.
I don't get a ton of playtime so i have no strong opinion one way OR the other but i do wonder just how tiring it must be for CCP to have made this vast, nullsec space to be capturable and claimable by players only for genuine newbies (not necessarily carebears or n00bs) have no chance to be one of those people who first holds and claims a small area of space because the same Alliance juggfernauts, time and time again, want it all and are the ONLY people capable of holding it.
but by this point i'm just rambling. Roll on Incarna so people will finally learn to move on (hopefully) and stop these non stop 'waaah CCP is not doing something i want' topics.

If CCP gives us the ability to come out from a dark corner and slit the throat of a war target because he wants to hump hookers rather than fight I'm all for it. Other than that it's a waste of network resources and putting even more load on a game that already has too much ****ing lag.
