I have been considering WH's and realized I dont know where to start, I mean what skills and ships do I need? Are there any training corps out there? How much time do I need to dedicate to something like that?
if you guys could point me in the right direction it would be awesome. |

There are a lot of good corps listed in a sticky thread. Check "Notable Corp and alliances in WH space" or something like that and see if there is a training corp there somewere. I think I saw at least one. Also, there is always Eve-UNI. Check them out too. |

-In a c1 and c2 it depends on what you can fly. All sites can be soloed, but don't expect a lot of isk. Just about everyone and their brother runs *spider tanking Drakes and Tengus in c3-4's. When you get into c5 and 6 you have a lot more BS's and capitals for escalations. You will also want to train your scanning skills (astrometrics 4, everything else 3-4) and covert ops ship. Scanning is one of your primary functions in a WH. *Spider tanking is using 1 remote shield repper on each ship. The amount of DPS you can tank is obscene.
-Look in the sticky like the above poster said
-WH activity varies on the corp you are in. In a c1/2 you will be running solo most of the time so it is how much you are wanting to put into scanning, running sites, collapsing holes, etc. Just don't expect to be making much isk from it. C1 and 2 are not very profitable. When you get into c3/6 it is more of a fleet thing. C3's can be solo'ed, but it is better to do it with 1 or 2 other people. C4's take 3-4 people depending on the ships (usually 2 tengus and a drake can clear a site pretty fast). c5s and c6 require quite a few more people, and are usually being escalated for the massive spawn of battleships. And in all WHs you always need to have someone put an alt on the incoming holes into yours for security purposes.
WH life can be very boring though. If you are in a corp who doesn't have set times for running sites you may miss them, and you may not even run sites every day. A good WH corp will be running sites, collapsing holes, and running the sites in the new holes. That takes a lot of effort and corp activity though.
I would also suggest you train PI skills. It takes about a week and a half to two weeks to get them to an acceptable level. After that you will be making almost passive isk from the planets. WH planets are very very profitable. If I remember correctly I used to make 400m+ a month per character just from PI. It took me about 5 minutes a day to do it. |

Firstly get the probes, throw them around the shop until they get a green arrow. Next land on the hole jump in and warp around to check the cool **** out. I recommend doing the exploration tutorial. It's part of the new player experience.
This wiki pages tells you the systems you can start this mission series. It teaches you how to do it and gives you some useful skillbooks. http://www.eve-wiki.net/index.php?title=Exploration_Career_Tutorial_Arc
There's a very good tutorial video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heYfTA00Idg
Once you can find sites run a few. If you find a wormhole go inside, scan the sites and try them in a pve fit battlecruiser or better ship (a Drake is ideal).
At that point you'll have questions so come back to us. You're quite likely to get killed by rats or players, you may also get stuck in a wormhole having forgotten to bookmark the way out. Don't worry, it will take you a few deaths to get the feel for it.
Everything wormhole stems from mastering Exploration. Learn exploration and you're sorted, the rest will come easily. |

My advice, take it for what it's worth:
If you haven't day tripped, do it. That's scanning down w from k and jumping in, setting up security, and getting out with the loot. That's how almost all people get started with wormholes.
If you want to take a bigger jump, find a decent C4-C3 corp, which is a very nice middle ground from the noobs (C2 corps) and the hardcore (C5-C6 corps). You get good money, good PvP opportunities and logisitics are not bad, either.
As far as instruction, I would suggest the Eve Uni class library. No matter what people say about them, they are the best in the business for taking people from complete noob in a subject to something resembling competency. |

I'd suggest doing some solo daytripping first. I consider it bad form to step into a wormhole corp totally clueless. Since you seem to not be an utter noob (or you bought your character), I'll make this fairly short:
Choosing a ship - This is for PVE, so active tank is a must - Tier 2 battlecruisers are good in C1/C2, Strategic Cruisers in C3s. I'd start with the former to keep costs down. - Battleships are big and slow, there's no reason to use one.
Fitting a ship - Probe launcher. Always a probe launcher. - Sleepers deal omni damage, so your resists should be as even as possible. - Aim for a minimum of 30km range, unless you're building a high-DPS blaster boat that can use MWD to close distance. - Sleepers switch targets, so only bring drones if you don't mind recalling them frequently.
Flying in a wormhole - As soon as you enter the hole, hold your cloak and cycle your directional scanner and system scanner. --If you only see a few anomalies, the hole might not be worth your time, and might have active players in it. --If there are ships on d-scan, get out. Until you've got some experience, it's best to avoid occupied systems. There are plenty of empty ones available. - Look up the system on wormnav.com. This will tell you what sort of activity has gone on recently. - All of the above can and should be done before your jump cloak expires. - Always bookmark the wormhole before you fly away from it. ALWAYS.
Shooting sleepers - If you're flying a heavy missile boat, you can basically sit still. You might want to orbit the first wreck you make to get some transversal, but range is not a concern for you. - If you're flying anything else, you'll probably be moving around. One thing I've learned is that if you don't pay attention, you end up with a rather large salvage field, making recovery take longer than it should. What I do is start flying away from the first wreck I make until I'm about 40 km out, then turn around and fly back. From there I fly back and forth between two wrecks, keeping all my wrecks in a tighter group. - Loot and salvage are all of the profit in wormhole PVE. Bring a dedicated salvager, either an alt or a friend. It goes MUCH faster and mitigates risk. - Bookmark a wreck that is in the middle of the salvage field and leave the site. Give it about five minutes to collapse before you bring in a salvager to clean up. This prevents people from easily finding you in an anomaly.
PVP - Keep your d-scan open at all times, and cycle it as often as possible. You want to know the moment another ship shows up on dscan so you can warp back to your wormhole. - Don't try to be clever. You're in a PVE ship. Get out. - You WILL eventually lose a ship. Expect it, consider it an operational expense. Don't go into w-space with expensive implants and faction mods that you don't NEED. The Skunkworks is recruiting. -áhttps://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1540711#post1540711 |

Join up a good corp / alliance.
Most of those alliances have wormhole newbies corporation which can help you for a while before transfering to another corp in the alliance.

If you're trying to go at it alone without the help of a corp/alliance that is already well established in WH space, then please follow these 3 easy steps:
1.) Put all of your crap into as many freighters as necessary. 2.) Right click the middle of your cap on said freighters and select "Self Destruct" 3.) Have friends/enemies/randoms blow up/steal anything that drops from the freighter.
I truly believe this will save you an awful lot of time.

This, pretty much.
A couple of other things:
- In a c1 or c2, you are going to want a drake. None of the other BC hulls come close in my opinion. You can also use a t3 which will raise your isk/hour, but honestly, it isn't worth it.
- In higher class WHs, your ship of choice will be an RR tengu with buddies. c3s can be local tanked but you will need faction/DED modules if you also want DPS. Other t3s CAN work, but the Tengu is the best for one reason; damage projection.
- You CAN start out solo with the right skills and alts. That does not mean you should; if the WH is desirable to you, it is desirable to others. Avoid any WH with a static HS. It will be way to easy for just about anyone with half a brian and a hard on for your hole to take it from you, and they will do so if they see you are in a small corp. Look at something with a Lowsec exit; c3-LS WHs are pretty common and you can make good isk solo; logisitics is actually very easy with t2 transport ships, often the only LS you will need to go through will be from the WH to the HS gate. Most if not all c2s have two statics, which tend to make them very busy.
- Deep Space Probes; get them. Drop one, set to 256 AU and position it so that your system is at the edge of its radius. This will allow you to see EVERYTHING that is going on in your system, which is an invaluable complement to d-scan. Almost as importantly: you can do it without hostiles knowing about it (probe wont show up on d-scan) |

Excellent infomation from Floppie there on many of the aspects. Only thing on there I disagree with is in the quote above. If you see probes on scan, always warp to a safe you have previously created in scan range of your exit WH, never warp straight back to the WH as often times a gang will be sat there waiting for you to be flushed out by the scanner. |

Or they'll be waiting for you in a dictor/HIC, lol. Warp to a safe close to the hole and check to see if there is one there on dscan and hope they aren't sitting there cloaked and ready to jump back through with you. Also make sure you understand polarity and how it often screws those who go into w-space without understanding the mechanics. |

Join a good alliance or corp.....however don't forget we are all paranoid and are right now assuming that you are posting here to join our corps and stael our stuff. Yep living in a WH makes you paranoid, but at least the neighbours can be relied on for GF and polite convos after.
Also i would suggest reading about wh life, its not for everyone. It involves a lot of 'suprise your dead', sitting around waiting for your corp mates to stop fapping so you can get on todays raid/carebearing/etc. Also the deeper you go the harder it is to get out. There is a lot of hurry up and wait...and wait a bit more. you dont get to mission, no bounties and you have to get anything that drops to market. It's a ***** to get stuff to market btw....
I will however say the guys i fly with are like family (don't tell them or they will assume i love them or somthing) and there is nothing quite as close knit as a bunch of people living out of a POS and sharing ships and talking rubbish on comms and Wormholers are like vikings in spaceships. We sit around being nice and carebearing, only to burst through a wormhole to steal stufff and burn everything. |

Ok - here are a series of articles covering wormholes. It's a category page on various wormhole topics covered by E-Uni.
http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Category:Wormholes
Here are a list of classes on exploration and wormholes - audio recordings of the classes.
http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Class_library#Exploration
The above range from probe formations to use for searching through hunting in wormholes around to living in them and using capitals in them. (yes, capitals aren't uncommon for higher end wormhole life)
Most of the classes and lectures were done by guest instructors who have spent years operating in w-space.
It's a popular subject of interest and quite worth looking into for a long-term style of game play in EVE. |
