I only pod war targets and people I don't like or people who have a decent bounty. I really don't see the point of shooting a pod otherwise. If you get pleasure from shooting a strangers pod for no reason then your probably lacking empathy which is a form of emotional intelligence and consequently makes you a bit of a dumbass

Empathy's knowing how others feel But Eve is a game, its not for real If I blow up their pod For the toon it's a sod But player's alive, no big deal ______________________________________________
Never argue with idiots. They will just drag it down to their level, and then beat you through experience. |

EVE is a game. It's not real. And Avon is on a limerick spree.
And I always have a reason : I like collecting corpses

Dammit, Avon!
- Any man's death diminishes me, as I am involved in mankinde; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee. |

EVE is a game. It's not real.
Its a MMOG not just a game. Everything player created or obtained is an investment of real time and randomly destroying that to obtain fun at the expense of another person is a little sad imo. Collecting corpses is not an excuse for me, though I admit it may be a valid one for you, depending on your personality.

It depends, if I respect the opponent or their organisation I generally wouldn't pod them unless my fleet commander says take the pod.
If I don't then that corpse is going in the container.
The only exception to the second is if they are a long way from home or a station. Then I'll leave them because it causes more inconvenience.

When I started pvping (pirating), I used to think a little like that. The loss of a ship and clones and stuff can be a very big deal to some, but if it's really that much of a big deal to lose something in a game world you should ask yourself if you really should play the game imo.
Yes, it can take a lot of effort to get some of the stuff you may want to have, but never ever use anything that you don't want to risk losing and you should be ok.
I usually fight in 0.0 areas. If you enter any 0.0 system you should realize that there is a chance that you may lose your ship and take an involontary clone trip. Going to 0.4 systems is also dangerous - don't go there either unless you want to risk losing everything you have. 0.5 systems are not safe either, but at least they are a lot safer than 0.4 and 0.0.
You invest real life time in this game, that's true. You may have lost months of work in a matter of a few seconds. Although that may suck, it's still just a game.
I have friends who have lost several uninsured battleships (never happened to me so far), none of them have taken the loss as that much of a big deal - they realize that it's a game, and play it as a game.

I always pod people just to get them far away from the situation. Why would I want them to come back in a short amount of time to pod me? :) ______________________

In theory I am completely against the concept of podding someone. I would only do it if I had serious issues with the pilot - so far emotionally killing their ship is enough for me.
In practice when the bloods up - I lock and scramble every pod that is hostile...
Sorry
It really does bite the first time it happens - but I assure you it doesn't hurt the next time so much. Or the time after that... or the time after that... or the time after that. I speak from experience there. Now how many clones have I gone through now?

I've podded a few enemies but overall (esp with RP Minmatar guys) if someone has been respectful and honorable in battle I'll tend to let them leave although sometimes the adreneline takes over and I do pod. I've also been known to wait at a gate and "invite" a pod to leave the system and order they not be fired on. It goes both ways.

It's easier to understand it if rp ppl don't podkill each other imo.
