Someone in my regular channel said all he needed was 300k to start making regular and automatic income with little or no skills.
Being new to EVE, I would like to know how this is done, or could be done.
Discuss :)

your friend is likely going to buy a basic command center, plant it on a planet an extract stuff to be sold on the market.
Depending on how much ISK he does make, he will then expand to larger command centers which yeld more profit.
probably you want to have a look at this:

ok ive read the university page. If I see it right, I should scan for something like aqueous liquids, a planet having it that is, in Gallente space, and land a command center near the hot spot. Then, through the cc, i make extractor(s) and a silo. Once in a while i check my assets n go pick up my ****. Now, I should probably make a processor linked to the silo to get oxygen out of the aqueous liquid...
Is all this right so far? What do you recommend as a starter upper? sec?planet?type resource?

at the moment, coolant is selling for a good price. I'd start from there.
However, it all boils down on how much ISK do you really have. Planting structures on planet costs ISK, import and export them also.
If you are a starter I would recomand using mining and missioning to keep an inflow of ISK to be invested into the planet.

It's going to go a lot better if you get some skills up and have at least a few mil but okay let's say I'm a completely new player with no skills and only 300k isk. You have read the EVE-Uni page on PI so I'm going to assume you know how to setup a colony.
1x Basic Command Center will cost you 81k isk. Gotta pick a type though. Storm/Plasma planets are good so if your home base is near one of those pick up one of those CCs. If you picked up a Storm CC you want to look for Ionic solutions, if you went Plasma, look for noble metals and do not worry about the small white bar.
Place 3x extractors and 1x Basic Industrial Facility and link/route them properly. You should now have 300k - 81k (CC) - 135k (3x extractors) - 75k (BIF) = 9k isk left. Should be barely enough to cover your first export tax. I recommend 23hr cycles but even with 5 hr cycles your BIF won't be running at full capacity and your CC will fill up in less than a day but you can make 200k a day with noble -> precious metals and 400k if you haul twice a day to prevent your CC from overflowing.
If you can make ~300k a day then you can fairly easily buy better skills for 450k (CC Upgrades and Interplanetary Consolidation) and better CCs (limited for 670k, standard for 1.6m) and a 900k launchpad so you can store lots more stuff and export it cheaper and fill it in with a lot more extractors/BIFs and make a lot more money. Or invest your money into a new ship :)
Try it out for a couple of days. If you hate it after 5 days, you'll still have made a bunch of money. - It's not "Play through a pre-set story, become stronger, do endgame". Gameplay is open ended, and you make your own story. Unless you're too afraid of 'pvp grief' to do anything relevant |

If you seriously want to play, why not invest one time in one extra plex (pilot license), sell this plex for >300 mill in jita and start building a real business ?
Every other way is just wasting a lot of time and you have to pay it anyway, because you need much more time to end up in the same way. With this 300 mill you can invest in skillbooks and assets to really do a good job.
