well I had beta access for about a week, tried to login last night and it told me that my beta access has expired and that if I wanted to continue beta testing I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO BUY THE MERC PACK!.....
so I have to pay to beta test your game. something is very wrong about that and i hope that this is not the case. |

Weekend event keys are just that, you get the weekend. You are not part of the full beta. The time for full keys have long since passed. You can now either wait for another weekend key, or buy the merc pack, wait for open beta, wait for release.
Pretty sure you can survive not being in a beta that has no bearing on a character at launch. |

never, at any point, was I ever informed that I received a weekend beta key. not once. I had access for 2 weekends I just didn't do anything but log in the 2nd weekend.
I can wait for full launch, because I wasn't impressed anyways. And if I'm not impressed, I won't be paying to beta test. I already pay CCP 70$usd/month for EVE. |

If you had access for two weeks in a row and believe your account was deactivated wrongly. I'd contact [email protected] |

Came to post pretty much the same.
Nowhere on the sign-ups did it state that it was a weekend pass.
I was seriously pissed about a game that is supposedly going to be free to play wants money for me to test it. For 135 kr (Gé¼20) I can get a lot of fun fully tested games on steam. In fact, I'm so pissed over it I wont be renewing my EvE subscriptions. |

Your not paying for the beta test, your paying for what's the equivalent of a special edition dust copy ( unique equipment and dropsuits on day 1, plus arum to spend on items). as a bonus it unlocks full beta access on your account if you don't already have it.
Don't make it out as the beta itself costing 20 usd, the game just mentions the merc pack as an option to get an all access beta pass after signups for those are over.
The current beta passes you sign up for are for event weekends only, full access passes can play every weekend and tend to gain acess durring the week when a beta event weekend is aproaching |

You pay to get into guild wars 2 beta test, you have to option to pay to get into most beta test nowadays. Or you can get picked at random and just be lucky.
the idea is you are giving them money in advance that you would of given on release day. you are rewarded by geting to play the crapy beta. IT's common practice.
also are you in EU? PSN is down numb nuts http://dl.eve-files.com/media/1206/scimi.jpg |

Uhm they do give you 20$ worth of ingame aurum currency special items and a 30 day booster, which btw are reissued with every wipe up to launch including the ingame aurum so spend it how you like youll just get it back at end of all the testing.
You probably scrolled or skipped the small text there is ALOT of it.

well if i could login and play fine for the past 2 weekends and the next time I login it says "if you want to continue playing, you must buy the merc pack" then I would say that yes it is doing more than just mentioning it as an option. the option is: pay or no beta. did you even fully read my posts? for 2 weekends this was not an issue. if i was only allowed 2 weekends on the beta then I would think that it would say that somewhere at some point. But it didn't. There may be special weekend beta events where keys are limited access. But this was not the case for me. |

Yea but the past weekend was not a beta event, so therefore only people who could play were ones that registered way back in winter or have purchased the merc pack and received the all access beta pass as a result. Point is you can still play the beta on beta event weekends as cana nyone else who sighned up through other means.
Next time read MY entire post before criticizing me for not reading yours |
