I just recently bought this lovely ship.
I have maxed gunnery support and Amarr BS IV, and the ship has: Tachyons Domination tracking enchancer Shadow serp tracking computer (i switch scripts if needed) (I think i had +5% tracking implant...) And lastly it has T1 tracking rig. I've already bought T2 version of it too, just need to get the skill up.
So, the question is: Do i have "too much" tracking? Im thinking of switching the tracking rig into Cap safeguard. I dont have eft or Eve available atm so i cant check stats.

Your priorities on a mission NM should be: 1) just enough tank to not die (500ish is more than enough) 2) 4 HS 3) As much tracking as you can fit

I use this fit, thing has plenty of tracking (and I almost always use optimal range scripts). I swap an afterburner for tracking comp on some missions.
highs can be used for tractor beam/drone link augmentor I guess.

If your tank lasts long enough, no point using cap rigs. I use something like the fit above, works really nicely.

right, the cap rigs were just already there from a previous fit, might be worthwhile to change em up but haven't had a reason to complain yet.

That was aimed at the OP rather than you, I rather like not capping out just from guns also :) Cap safeguard rig is not what I'd want to fit.

For a long time i was a rail user, Kronos is still the only marauder i can fly. Now ive seen the light...
I checked the stats and my tracking was around 0.034xx or so. I guess thats good enough, since i swap Megapulses on short range missions anyways, like Damsel.
Anyways, 2 things.. I dont see any point buying 4 faction damage mods. I think the difference was, with max skills, 7 dps between faction damage mod and T2.
Second thing... Fitting both Heavy Cap Boosters and cap recharging modules/rigs is pretty stupid, IMO. Since cap recharging is similar to shield recharging, so you mostlikely end up stacking too much recharge. Normally my capacitor runs quite dry, it hovers around 10-20% or so. I only inject a cap charge or two if i need to shield boost. I swiched my T2 Tachs into faction ones as they seem to consume 25% less cap. I think its better to be efficient cap user rather that overstack recharge.

yes, you have too much tracking for a level 4. i mission 4's in a nightmare also, have very mediocre skills since the nightmare is the only non-missile boat i use, and the only tracking mods i have on mine are the serp computer in the mid and the domination enhancer in the low
AND i was just saying today that i was gonna take off one or the other and replace it with more tank or more cap because i don't need the amount of tracking i have, even with very average gunnery skills and amarr bs 3
if you have good skills you for 100% sure do not need the tracking rig. drop that asap and put something else on it. you probably don't need the tracking computer either, but that's up to you. the only reason i had one on mine was with my skills sometimes i needed the extra range or the extra tracking in different situations. now that my gunnery has gone from terrible to average i hardly ever use it
short answer: replace the rig and think about replacing the tracking computer too
