I read them! Didn't understand 90% of the stuff... But at least they put the effort to try to communicate a bit?

To people who want results not blogs: How about you go fix lag? It's not just "hey bro, look at this typo.. oops, lemme fix this", it's a complex issue. Yes, we pay for a product/service, and CCP should fix lag, but it's not as simple as that
I am busy fixing the software we produce for my company. Our customers don't want blogs, they want things fixed.
Also, it is worth nothing how the guys who count in a company - the guys with vision like Oveur, can achieve in 1 post what the "mere average employees" can't explain or justify with a score of posts spanning weeks. - Auditing & consulting

Reading it made my brain hurt :(
The white text on black background was a pain in large blocks.

WIN
Talk is nice and definitely appreciated. But they upped that rhetoric without serving the pudding.
Enough about what the issues are - how they were going to fix them - the issues with fixing them - why something was delayed or why the repairs were not complete properly.
Blogs of substance, not different DVs rehashing the same problems and excuses.

Edited by: Cire XIII on 18/08/2010 15:24:28 I found the Q&A in the blog comments to be far more helpful than the blogs themselves. I look forward to more server side performance increases on TQ.

Our problems are server-side.

There is just no pleasing some people in eve. These blogs are tanis and his crew showing what has been going on the past 9 months in the fight against lag and people still say, You aren't doing anything.
Well they are, and if some of you would you know read the blogs on occasion you will find out they did a lot and are fixing they game every chance they get. Now do your part and show up for the mass test. more people means more data, which means faster fixes.

People complaining about people complaining ? Seriously, ccp can blog until hell freezes over. It does not change the fact that we have listened to promises for a year, and with each patch it seems to get worse. Last fall they promised a fix by Xmas. Guess we should have asked which one.

Yes but there is a difference between them promising and not doing anything, and them promising and trying, and just not having the answers we want yet.
Also, stop complaining about people complaining about complaining!

If you had a clue, and had any involvement in 0.0, you would know exactly the thread I'm talking about. Up until the late summer patch last year, fleet fights of 1000 people were possible, although heavy lag was always an issue, it was at least predictable. If you cycled your guns properly, took your time, you could still fight on even terms as everyone suffered equally. Since that patch, 1000's of ships have died to random lag, usually entering a system with people already in it. Lag for people in the system already was minimal, leading to entire fleets being destroyed without a fight. Perhaps the most famous debacle from this lag was the loss of 4 or 5 Titans by PL in their defense of Fountain. Fleet fighting has never been the same since. More fights in 0.0 have been decided by node crashes and massive lag, than any other single reason. CCP, continues to promise fixes. Most of us have listened to that for along time, it's time to actually fix it, and not talk about it.
