I looked all over in the gui and options and cannot figure out how to make the fonts bigger. Can anyone tell me how? Thanks |

There's the context menu font scaling. Other than that, you probably want to pick the ui scaling. FuzzWork Enterprises http://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/ Blueprint calculator, invention chance calculator, isk/m3 Ore chart-á and other 'useful' utilities. |

This is my current issue. My sight is failiny in my old age and I need large fonts. I assumed tis might be an issue, fom viewing various videpos on gameplay. I use my TV and the text is way too small.
I have been out of the character creator for 2 and hr and have yet to initiate the tutorial. I cannot advance until I can actually read what is on the screen.
I finally found the Content Text size. It does nothing. The setting of 9 to the setting of 13 has zero effect on text size. The UI Scalling only has 90% and 100%.
What am I missing here? |

EDIT : I was able to get a skill started. I attempted to leave the hanger...That was a joke. Unless I can increase the text size, I am afraid my Eve experience is over before it begins. Which is sad, indeed.
Ask in help chat for someone to talk you through it. You should be able to more or less double the size. |

How is he going to be able to ask in help channel if he cannot read the help channel?

Thank you for the reply. The font is too small for me to use the chat. I was able to make out the two suggested settings from the above posts. They are already set to 13 and 100%. I don't know what else to look for?

Also, reduce the resolution in the game until everything is set. Going 1600 on a tv because you /can/ may not be the best idea. I think you can use an option in the launcher to drop it down before the game loads the tinyfont.
I also use a tv to play, and it is hard to get things set up the first time around. |

That is good advice. I currently have the game set to the lowest resolution. It's 1700 x 688. I can get closer to it...for now. I just took a few asprin for an oncoming headache.
I had to put the game into window mode and use the Win7 mag to read the instructions on the tutorial. I still have no idea what the fine print on some objects are all about. |

First find out which your TV is. Then make sure your Windows resolution is set to match that. Then make sure EVE is set to that also. Then worry about the in-game settings...

To be clear, don't drop the resolution of your TV, drop the resolution of the game. You can load it in like 1280x760 or whatever and it'll be huge and blockly and terrible to look at but you should be able to read menus in game.
'Dropping' the resolution down to 1700 from 1920 isn't going to do much. Drop that thing down to 800x600. Try harder, dude, you can do it. |

That is the setting of the game. The TV resolution and Windows 7 has been adjusted and set in place for months, as they correlate with my NVIDA card. That is what it is. That setting does not change, for any of the games I have.
I have tried all the "in-game" settings and none of them really differentiate form the other...except that the screen may or may not fit exactly right.
It still comes down to the small print and actually being able to change the font size. I almost failed a training mission, because the instructions flashed up and were gone before I could make out what I was expected to do.
I normally set 6' form the screen. If I get within 4', I can make it out enough to play..for now. But my play time is shortened by headaches.
Searching for like situations. It seems that this has been an issue with a lot of players for the better of 2 years. Some, like myself, are forced to abandon the game for this.
This is what I have to work with. My TV or my eyeglass script isn't going to change anytime soon, if ever. I doubt I will outlive my current TV as it is. |

I had this problem the other night. My eyesight isn't so great either and straining to read the tiny text while wearing contacts started to hurt my brain.
I set the UI scaler to 120 or 150%, problem solved. Although the screen can look a little cluttered and takes a bit of sorting to get your Overview set up in a suitable manner.
Go back to the UI settings, the option should be there. |
