Basically, the dev blog I saw talked about changing 1 form of moon Goo to another. Is this good? Useful? Or just a back up invade some one tries to create an inflation in a moon Goo?
Heck, re reactions even profitable? I buy most of the components I need for building materials. Can you even acquire enough moon Goo at low enough prices for reactions to be profitable? |

its actually said in the dev-blog...the changes are made to bypass, not replace Moon minerals incase of syndicate-scenarios like we have with technetium atm (OTEC). Basicly it does not replace any Moon Goo`s it just add options to avoid too much manipulation.

Everyone likely forgot about it, given that Tech is the hot item right now and thus current alchemy is pretty meh in terms of profitability. |

When alchemy was originally introduced it was due to insane prices on the rarest moon goo minerals. since then the prices of those minerals has stayed well within a reasonable level.
Why is it that Tech was able to become the bottle neck mineral? It is not near as rare as many other minerals.
Almost all the minerals that should be more valuable than tech where given alchemy reactions some time ago. It seems to have worked. Now they are adding alchemy to tech and the others that have not yet reached or may never reach a bottle neck situation.
Trying to compare the output of a single tech moon to what it would cost to create the same output using alchemy will of course make the numbers look insane. But very few T2 manufacturers need that much Tech. Provided the price of cobalt (or whatever mineral they change the tech alchemy too) does not get out of control. Even if it does there is a cobalt alchemy reaction as well. Many manufacturers could throw up a reactor on an existing POS that has the extra room, or slightly rework some POS's to make room without increasing fuel costs. You do not need anywhere near the amount of tech produced by a dedicated extraction POS to keep a T2 manufacturing program running profitably. \ Just like how we currently get minerals that are not profitable enough to justify a dedicated extracition POS. There is no shortage of these minerals, they are to worthless to cover the fuel costs of an extraction POS, yet they still get extracted and sold at these low prices. Why? Players just mine them on an POS that was primarily set up for something else. It will be the same with the new alchemy reactions. 90% of the associated cost for the new alchemy reactions is POS fuel. if these reactions are done on existing POSes where the fuel costs will not matter as much, as the POS is already being run for other reasons. The new tech alchemy suddenly becomes much much more profitable. |

At the same time that they introduced Alchemy, they dramatically reduced the amount of R64s that went into every T2 item. By doing this, they accidentally made Tech the new bottleneck.
Alchemy had little or nothing to do with it and has very rarely been profitable. EvE: Everyone vs Everyone |
