Today I decided to get into a little bit of station trading. Name changed to protect the innocent.
I had several market orders up, one of which was selling at 648,000 ISK. I log on today, and find a transaction for the same item, at 222,000,000 (222 MILLION isk). Is this possible, or did I just get reverse-exploit scammed?

Your link didn't work for me, but it sounds like what happens is that a third person had a sell order up for 222m. The buyer mistakenly bought from that sell order, but because your sell order was the current lowest price, the money for it went to you. I've had this happen to me several times, and it is always a nice little surprise/bonus.
Unless you're saying that you lost 222m instead of gaining it (instead of 648k)? In that case I have no idea.

I once sold a damage control 2 that I had listed for 700,000 for 770,000,000 isk. Someone else had setup an order for 770,000,000 isk and when some poor noob pulled up his market screen he didnt bother to find the lowest price and just hit "buy" on the 770 million isk order(not reading number of zeros is a bad bad thing).
Since i had the lowest sell order in jita at that very moment the full amount of the isk went into my account.
Its like a mini-lottery dependent on the poor reading of others, enjoy the windfall!

it was green, someone else seriously messed up and you had the lowest order, so they paid the price they wanted to for the cheapest one,
enjoy the money

Like the people above already said it, perfectly normal game mechanics.
HOWEVER, you might want to petition it anyway, just to make sure the buyer was not a RMTer attempting (and failing) to launder ISK... so you won't get unpleasant surprises like seeing 222 mil vanish from your wallet a few weeks/months from now when that character gets banned. BTW, make sure you mention it is normal game mechanics and you want to keep the money, and you're only petitioning to make sure the other guy is not involved in RMT... least the GM misunderstands this as you claiming it's a bug and wanting to reverse the transaction.
P.S. That is, if you want to keep the money. You could return the difference to the buyer if you're feeling generous. You should probably still petition, just to make sure you don't end up returning the money twice (once directly, once via GM transfer much later).

It's absolutely absurd that the market group screen seems to report the highest price possible. There is no good reason for this filters should at least make sense even if it continues to be possible to purchase anything but the lowest sell order at a particular station.
