Hi OOPE. I've recently spent a goodly chunk of time writing the groundwork design document for an MMORTS, a sort of hybrid between World of Tanks, Age of Empires and Starcraft, and I wanted to see if anyone knew where I could send such an idea. Knowing anything, it probably won't mean anything, but I'd like to feel like I didn't waste 200-odd pages of writing for nothing, so if anyone can link me to some studio's creative department or the like, that'd be great.
If or when my question gets answered, the next question is this: If you had a game idea, which developer would you trust to make it?

1st Question: No idea, I'd be probably much too afraid that the idea gets stolen. 2nd Question: Probably Blizzard if I wanted the game to be profitable, otherwise maybe Gas Powered Games?

Be careful sending ideas out though, They might look at yours and not make anything and then work off that idea and make something of their own and never credit you.
It is known to happen in the movie industry with script ideas.

In the academic world as well. Regrettably. _________________________________________ Support the "Seed Primae on the market and ORE LP Stores" proposal! Click here |

Most publishers have a policy of NOT accepting random ideas from the general public at all. For all you know they've been working on a very similar game for the last 3 years and here you go sending in something similar and claiming a year later they ripped you off... happens more often than you think.
If you created such an awesome idea and took the time to write down over 200 pages of it, certainly you could spend a day doing your research on how to get ideas in front of people that can execute them.

Edited by: Barakkus on 23/08/2010 21:43:55 Don't send it to anyone.
Get a copy of this: http://www.conitec.com/english/gstudio/
Get a decent open source database like PostgreSQL (recommended) or MySQL (not so good for an MMO)
Get a few friends and start working on it.
3D Game Studio can also load libraries written in other languages like C++ or Delphi.
Once it's developed get it started as a free thing then try selling it to a publisher.
Oh, and before you do anything get a copyright or some nonsense on your stuff, it's cheap.
