Originally by: Marklar o'Marklar I think once or twice per year Concord Police should go on strike for a week or so. During this time there would be no police action, sec status loss, etc. Keep it real. The game keeps getting nerfed in favor of carebears, so this way us pirates would get at least a token of respect given to the carebears. We pay to play too...
This honestly makes you sound like a "carebear-PvPer"...there are game mechanics to ensure people can play the game to their likes. Want to be a pirate? Deal with the consequences as many if not most pirates do. This includes losing sec rating or - god forbid! - getting shot down by CONCORD in 0.5 or higher.
Want to be one of those apparently so loathed carebears? Stick to high sec space or travel accordingly (scouting, watching reports, tanking your ship etc).
Asking for a security measure against harassment to be disabled every once in a while just hints that you are a total failure at PvP and especially ganking and being a pirate. Seems you're looking for PvP to be what you always criticise about some players - carebear-like. Yay for vanilla-PvP!

What incredibly arrogant idea the op has come up with!If this were to happen, he would get to feel like Mr. Pirate Tough Guy, at least until the real PvP experts showed up from deep in null and did to him what he planned for less experienced players.
This game is already front loaded for experienced players, all this would do is make it next to impossible for new players to ever get good at it. Fact is, the idea is totally fail.
So, how about this; instead of having a sec status in systems, have a probability of a Concord response throughout Eve. Lower in null, a little higher in low sec, and higher still in high sec. I personally would take the risk. My question to Mr. Pirate Tough Guy is, would you?

Of course not, I am a new player and unless I want to buy a bunch of plex and then buy a charactor that is 4 years old, I wouldn't stand a chance in this time-ingame advanteged universe. I dont mind losing a ship, but I'm not congenitally stupid either

Naw, I've been in sec systems from 0.0 up. They all have there fun. I'm just suggesting a fun RARE event. Not like I'm asking for this all the time. I just think the chaos that would ensue would be great fun and full of lolz. If you saw my earlier post, you also saw that I fully support the idea of a week of concord enforcement in low sec. I think it would be equally fun to see pirates that couldn't pay attention to warnings get concorded when they think they're safe.

1st it is a week, not all the time. 2nd even if some do not play that week, there will still be plenty of people that do anyway and we can amuse ourselves at their expense. 3rd I suspect you're a whiny carebear.
Many carebears do not read the news and will undock not knowing what is going on. They will promptly be pwned by pirates and loose their faction fitted BS worth billions of isk. They will cry, petition and then when told this was an event for this week will unsub..
You CAN NOT force people that don't want to PvP to PvP.
Lana is not a carebear, she's usually a dedicated pirate, but she's right guys... they will just leave

Question asked and answered. Fair enough, at least the op is an equal opportunity griefer. +1 to your answer sir!

Edited by: Lord Nagumo on 07/09/2010 02:31:05 Eve could quite possibly be the most complicated MMORPG in existence. This level of complexity does a fantastic job of keeping away ******s who play games like EverQuest, Bejeweled, The Sims, or Deer Hunter. Unfortunately, those with the intellegence and patience to navigate the intricate character creation process and lengthy tutorial are soon beaten and humiliated by the existing player base forcing them to log out. gamers soon find EVE is populated by other, considerably less friendly and, surpisingly, more intelligent ******s with computers. And real life is the same way. I guess what im saying is ya it will be hard for new guys but hey i got my ass kicked all over the place and im not ****ing down both legs screaming and crying so YES TO THE WEEK OF PURE PVP

THIS.
My 3rd week in, the trial friendly mission running, highsec mining op running carebear corp I joined was wardecced.
CEO was like "LOL EVERYONE STAY IN STATION AND THEY'LL GET BORED AND GO AWAY" however, most of us decided to form up and go kill them. Despite all being summarily trounced by 2 drakes (there was 8 of us...killed by 2 dudes, Kirth Gersen and Chapters, love both of these guys for getting me into pvp so early in the game) I was in a condor and was told to just web them and orbit while going as fast as I could.
No mercy was asked for and none was given - just combat. So I left after the dec and joined a pvp corp and never looked back, still fly with those guys to this day. All because of a highsec wardec <3

I understand the need for PvP fighting, but there are times when all it dose is drive people out of the game.
I am fairly new to the game and was in a corp in a quiet little part of space mining away when a guy flew in and stold from my can. when I called him on it he made a formal dec of war.
Now i understand that this is all part of the game, but in this case I am totaly out matched and there is no way for me to possibly pay what the guy is asking to end hostilities.
So in effect what he has done is driven me out of the game because I have no way to either fight him or pay him.
just one more way the game drives people away

How about an event where all nullsec and lowsec are turned into highsec for a week!!1!! Without a warning of course, the sec status of the systems would remain the same but concord would be working everywhere!!!1 When ppl to try to pvp, to their surprise they get concodeekken to hell!1!1 on the top of that it would be great if concord would pop sihps just randomly, out of the blue. that would be so awesomesaucebbq

This wouldn't work. Concord would just contract a care bear corporation to create Robo Cop.

Im partially in favour of this, but instead of them going on strike they should go on holiday to low and null sec. now that would be really funny. But then I guess all the low/null sec players would all be snivelling about that now wouldn't they.

Lana your really only looking at one side like most people do. CCP can put a warning when you log onto your character. There could also be "safe" systems that where not affected by the strike. Please stop being closed mineded and stop trying to speak for every one. Wait for a few more post befor trying to do that.
I usually dont agree with lana but listen to him. He is trying to protect you from yourself. These ideas wont work for the other guys getting beat on and station spinning. In the end it will be tears for the carebears and tears for CCP's wallet which means eventually you will show up here again *****ing.....yet.....again.
So to recap. Dont think. Let us do that for you.
