*******s.
If you're flying T2 - i.e. a hulk - then you're fair game for other things T2. If you have T2 drones as well, you have enough skillpoints that your ship is only "defenseless" if you let it be, especially in highsec.
You don't get noob charity in a Hulk. Noob charity is for Retrievers, tops.

There is noob charity in EVE?
I guess there may be some charity from the eve vets toward the noob, however the noob is still getting no love from the noob +2 months.
Excrement, after all, rolls downhill.
That being said. If you're in a hulk you should know better, unless you have purchased the account of course, in which case you simply deserve it - regardless.

The hulk pilot deserved it. Drones or no, anyone who thinks a mining ship is fit to go at it with even a frigate is asking to get cornholed. Why risk a 130mil ship over 300 units of omber? He let his pride think for him. My only wish in situations like that is that there was a single mining ship that really could fight back. I could use a BS to mine, but once all the high spots are filled with miner II's it is basically without any offensive punch either. Now If I could mount just 2 strip miners and use 6 weapons in the mounts.....ah then we miners would have a reason to fly them

Lana's prefered method of can flipping.
1 - Find miner jetcanning. 2 - Get PvP fitted phoon (or cain) 3 - Flip can and target miner. 4 - Assuming the miner is awake, when they warp off, take the remaining contents of the can and sell it on the market.
You can also use this method for mission runners. Occasionaly they are stupid enough to actualy fire, but most of the time they will give you a room full of wrecks to loot for free.
(For those not following this, yes i'm taking about looting for the actual loot)

Lana, the low potential for tear extraction in your method leaves me no choice but to proclaim your method unsound.

I knew I should have called it tipping...
I dont know. I managed to get a CNR try and engage a cane once (I had a logi in grid as well, just in case, but I didnt need it). Got some ok tears from that. Managed to get a golem concorded, that was loltastic.. I'll agree the potentual is lower, but its way more fun.
Edit: Actulay, my best ever result with this was in a proteus when i dropped in to some guys mission, stole all his tags and then demanded that he hand over any remaining tags and go in to the next room and farm me some more. He did so immediatly.

Pretty much. Funny how the hulk pilot was at least smart enough to not pay a ransom and then fail-rage-posting on the forum

You better go back and read the original post good sir. There is no rage to be had from me, it was about my amusement, not rage. Here I'll spell it out for you. I was entertained by a hulk pilot, mining in a .5, using an unsecured can, who fired at me when I stole a very small amount of his ore, then rather then paying a small bounty, he emoragequit so I blew his ship up. The forum topic states "this is the place to discuss the criminal elements of EVE" So I thought it would be fun to discuss, maybe hear some other similar stories.
Instead it's turned into a very entertaining troll infested madhouse, which is just as good for me, because it's that much more entertaining.
Also, to the guy who linked the killmail of my drake, I stated right in the original post, that I'm somewhat new to pvp. If you must know, I've lost quite a few caracals also, most of them in Amamake. The caracal's, as well as the drake, were all "anti frig" fits that I had been playing around with off of battleclinic, just turned out that I couldn't find 2-3 frigs to fight, there was usually something bigger. I'm not ashamed by killmails with my name on them, in fact I'm proud of them, at least I have the balls to try. And right now, I'm in a ship that with modules factored in, I have probably over 100 mil into. I'm sure at some point it's going to be blown to bits too, but that's ok because at least I've had a good time flying it

The rage is almost palpable, tell me some more about how you didn't want that ransom anyway.

I won't deny that the ransom would have been great, but after the fact I'm actually quite pleased that he didn't give the ransom. I've had several days of forum entertainment from this topic and that's worth more then the ransom at this point anyway~
In fact, it kinda makes me understand why there are people out there who don't even give the option of ransom, they just blow people up for the sake of blowing them up. It is quite entertaining!

Wow, Orewell, you sure turned up a lot of bitter/jaded vets and trolls in this thread!
Don't let their poison spoil your fun. Can flipping and killing a hulk with your worm is fun, is funny, and IMO is threadworthy. What the trolls won't admit is that you're not trying to brag about your combat prowess; what won you the fight is your ability to set up the other guy so his own ignorance, foolishness, and rage could combine to destroy him. And that's really the best of EVE right there.
A fun fight in EVE is almost never about besting an evenly-matched opponent in a pure test of spaceship-flying skill; flying spaceships in EVE isn't that much fun, and most even matches are boring or allow one party to withdraw at their pleasure. A fun fight in EVE is about setting the other guy up to make a fatal mistake, and then crushing him like a bug.
Good job! ------------------ Ironfleet.com |
