I am going to guess that becuase your eve account is specific to your IP address then your HTTP ports were redirected.

Yes, I met your girlfriend there, she says Hi.
I notice your quote of my post is still here but my original posting has disappeared. Someone is deleting my posts and saying nothing...

Edited by: Barakkus on 25/08/2010 20:28:26 What happened is your ISP shut off your intert00bz b/c you hadn't paid them.
Whenever you sign up for broadband with most companies now a days, they have a proxy that will redirect any HTTP traffic to a specific host until your modem has been "activated". They basically remove the proxy restrictions on your line after your account is turned on. The EVE client gets the news articles via HTTP and your ISP is blocking the request and redirecting it to whatever page they have it set to.
There isn't any way around it unfortunately. You will have to call tech support if you are good on your bill and they will remove the proxy restrictions on your line.
Comcast does this as well.

They certainly violated your EULA to Eve Online by altering your universe with software. Unless you or CCP gave them permission to do so they have indeed broken the law. tin foil hats indeed.
When you say "fanboi" try to picture a fat man doing burlesque with 2 big ass fans that say CCP on one and HTFU on the other. Because that dude is me. |

Edited by: Mire Stoude on 25/08/2010 22:44:28 As described before, the news on login screen in Eve is generated with HTML just like how an internet browser loads web pages (sometimes you'll see "404 not found" messages when clicking on links and your connection bites).
Well, ISP's have magical fairy dust that redirects your browsers to their "pay your bill" website when you are late. Since Eve loads the news content the same way a browser loads web pages, it can also be redirected.
Long story short; pay your bill.

I only wish it were enshrined in the EU constitution that citizens are allowed to shoot politicians. I'd personally have shot the entire British government for the traitors and corrupt pieces of **** that they are. It's a shame it's not permitted, though I'll not one second mourn the loss of war criminals, thieves or dirt, but it's good to see the EU are protecting their citizens from fascism one regime at a time.
LOLUK strikes its citizens wrecking for all their privacy rights. It's a shame the sheeple in the UK are too busy grazing, otherwise these corporate pieces of **** wouldn't get away with the **** they do.
