So I can't shoot these with drones, because drones aggro the whole pocket and then some of them die. And I can't kill them on my own because my BS guns aren't fast enough to keep up. So what's the trick to doing this, then? I just want to get to the gate because I'm blitzing, but with two webs on me that would take years =/

When yourdrones start totakeagro, recall them to your drone bay.
Also, leave the spies until last if at all possible so as not to gain agro from the whole room. On warp in, wait a few seconds until agro'd by the group that is low to your left. Kill them, then agro one group at a time, then kill the spies with a full flight of drones.

Yup. Set drones to passive to be sure and save the spies for last. I agree with everything Barakkus posts. |

I ignore them till I've aggro'd the rest of the pocket because tbh, two frigs is hardly a worry for my tank.

People, he said he's trying to blitz the room. Eve-survival says to blitz, kill the webbers and run for the gate. I imagine you would have to have a pretty good tank, so you can tank the whole room while you do it.

Either take years slowboating with 2 webs or years to clear the pocket. Up to you to figure out what is more profitable.

Shoot spies, dock drones, grab all agro, let drones out and go make some tea. That is, if you are flying some asshat AFK droneboat =)

Edited by: Cipher Jones on 25/08/2010 16:52:17 here is the most profitable way to do it:
Kill the 3 battleships or sentries that are grouped with the spies first.
let all 5 drones out and attack the spies. Only one of the drones will die. let the 4 remaining drones finish off the frig.
Recall them, then repeat for the second spy.
You will lose 2 drones every time you do it. I find i make around 200,000 isk per minute running missions so wasting several minutes ****ing around with the spies is less productive than losing 2 drones.
Alternatively you can use a webber if you can fit one. I find even with a webber and dual 425's and a target painter on a typhoon, it still takes longer to kill them than just scaraficing 2 drones.
The only fit this does not work with IMHO is the drake, because having 3 drones sucks.

200,000 isk per minute is 12 million isk per hour.
I don't wish to kick off a flame war or anything, but it seems to me that you'd make more isk/minute by killing everything in worlds collide and salvaging it. Should not take more than 120 minutes total, for about 30 million total return ~= 250,000 isk/minute. This disregards the LP value of doing another mission of course.

Depends what you fly but as a Dominix pilot I'd usually take whole room aggro when necessary then kill stuff quick. But I generally get the Serpentis/Guristas version of Worlds Collide and I'm not sure that has the aggro issues you mention.
Composition and range normally depend on what targets I'd go for first but if mission rats are at range I'd often go frigate > cruiser/bc > battleship and if close up then I may decide to go cruiser/bc > battleship > frigate to reduce the dps rather than worrying about tricky to hit frigates.
But tactics are very much ship/fit dependant.

My bad that's from mining. Adding up last nights missions it comes to 305k a minute in bounty and ISK rewards. I don't sell LP and haven't been keeping track of salvage per mission.
The point being of course that screwing around for 2 minutes with those spies costs more than losing the 2 drones.

1.) Deploy light drones in passive mode.
2.) Have a single drone attack the target.
3.) As soon as that drone places a single hit on the target, engage your remaining 4 drones and recall your original drone back to the bay
4.) Your remaining 4 drones will continue to attack the target, but will not get aggro.
5.) Repeat for the second target after the first one is dead.
If it doesn't work, you're doing it wrong.

why does eve-survival say to blitz? if you have great lp conversion good chance it is worth it, otherwise probably killing most of that 2nd room is worthwhile, I've gotten some big bounty ticks doing that.
besides if you are going to blitz at least take a ship that can kill the frigs with its main guns, the tengu is an awesome ship for that task, I'd think the other t3s are pretty good too.
