The person you're 'renting' the space from should help, but they're probably too busy playing paddy cake with their NAP buddies.
Seems like the best scam going if they don't have to do anything but take your isk. It'd be cheaper to just use 0.0 space without paying anyone and lose ships now and then.

No I wouldn't cry as crying is something children, and emotionally distressed or disturbed people do. You went to 00 rented space, formed an alliance and now aren't up to dealing with your 'neighbors' who obviously want to play but you just want to do PVE in 00, I can't feel sorry for you. Go kick some people out of a WH, join an actual alliance/corp where they will let you PVE in their 00 while they protect you, go back to highsec, or just man-up.

Time to **** off everyone again.....
The flamers are correct in most of their basic points. Don't hold your breath for CCP to make 0.0 more cozy for renters (or for anyone else...). 0.0 is suppose to be the place where PLAYER empires battle for supremacy. (with a little gank squad action on the side, but in spite of what some may say, gank squad action is NOT, repeat NOT, 0.0's main function. 0.0's main function is where PLAYER empires battle for supremacy.)
My hunch is that CCP WILL nerf as needed if it starts becoming impossible for players Empires "in general" to "reliably" and "with little trouble" maintain their infrastructure due to stealth/fast raiders. (if they can't maintain due to invasion, then 0.0 is functioning as designed)
On the flip side, expect CCP to work hard to be sure that there always ARE stealth/fast raiders, and they gets some kills off the careless/unlucky....
Likewise, poorly run 0.0 space will ALWAYS be a playground for hostiles, and my STRONG hunch is that CCP likes it that way (which is why I used the term "in general" above....)
The above is all my opinion, but I'd bet money its close to the truth.
Play nice while you butcher each other.

I have no problem with the cynos in generel or cynos.
Its fine by me that a nano gang gets into our system and catch the non alerted, or make a fleet that make cynos and reinforce ours possses..
thats something we might can do something about, but a 23h cloaker we cannot.

Counter hot dropping?
Determine the times they attack and come up with a time frame you can expect them to be active then mobilize defense fleets consisting of cloaky hate next to bait?
Dont rat in systems with afk cloakers? Move if they follow. If they follow mobilize a trap?
Stop ratting and figure out other ways to make isk in your area?
Always stay aligned? I know i know but it cant hurt. |

You gotta love it when someone asks for your advice and tellls you your wrong when you give it.
I am honestly starting to hope that your "afk cloaker" chases you out of 0.0 and cyno-fleet hot drops your rear to oblivion...

Originally by: Terror Wheels i think the AFK cloakers with cyno / covert cyno is a plauge in eve.
we are about 200 peeps who had rented som systems in 0.0 and started our own alliance. a few days later the AFK cloaker came. beeing there 23 hours a day makes us to do nothing. and eventually we cant make money to stay in 0.0
some guys tried ratting, but they covert cyno fleets in and cyno in cap ships. and we cant do anything?!
why is that?
I have no problem with cloaking in generel its fine.
THE IDEA
Simply make it the way that you cant fit a cloak (any type) and a cyno (any type) at the same time. So a cov ops. tengu or something like that can still camp, but he cant toss a cyno in your face.
To all the haters... you would cry too if you was camped by a single toon, and you cant do anything other than taking huge risks.
Screw you. That's the entire point of covert recons. You're just whining because your enemies wont sit still whilst you hit them. Maybe crosswords should come with the answers filled in for you too... |

Correct me if Iam wrong.
AFK = Away From Keyboard.
Unless an eve player has found a way to pvp away from their key board then I have a hard time understanding how a AFK person can kill you. About all he can do is disturb you sense of security. The other thing i dont understand is how you know he is AFK if the only time you see him is when he is killing you with his friends.
Matter fact I cant remeber a time ever in this game that I died to a afk player.
So what you are saying is you are dieing to a PVP macro. LOL. So now we have macro miners, macro ratters and macro pvpers.
Challenge yourself and learn to play eve it is a hard game and that is what we enjoy.

Stop AFK PVP, I am tired of dieing in AFK gate camps!
These AFK gate campers get away with this because there is no counter in game, if we don't stop this null sec will become depopulated!

so, you have more that two connected systems, right? Go rat in system #1 until the mean old AFK cloaker comes in, then you hop to system #2 and setup a bubbled-gate camp to catch him when he comes through to spy on you again.

What's to stop people from deciding to 'rent' systems out just so theres some easy targets around for their buddies?
If you ask me, at least a small amount of protection should be included in the rental agreement, otherwise you're just getting screwed. By the time someone has a large enough alliance to handle the type of thing he's talking about, they wouldn't need to rent anyway.

Not disputing that renters should get the protection of their alliance but this isn't a perfect world, it's EvE, and if a 'renting alliance' are getting hassled, a lot of the 'renter alliances' won't give a hoot.
The reality is that renting space only means you won't (shouldn't) get shot by members of the alliance they are renting from. If you can't handle what 0.0 throws at you, you're not ready to be there regardless of whether or not you can pull together your own mini-alliance. .

But if you're losing lots of ships, what difference does it make who it is to? Paying 'rent' to one alliance just means another takes its place.
I still think he's better off just saving this isk he's paying in rent and trying to claim a 0.0 system himself. It's not much different than what he's going through now.

If you're can't deal with cyno fleets, then move out to wormspace. Your enemies would have to spend weeks looking for you AND get lucky to find you.
Your only other options are to pay all involved parties protection money (in which case I'll be camping you soon), or go back to hisec where carebears belong.

Though there is not much we could do about it, my alliance and allies would quickly counter this!
set up a watch in BS or some kind of powerful ships, wait for an attack, when it hits start a Call to Arms and get your navy and fight off the invaders!
if this happened in one of the Alliance systems we would have a a response fleet ready in 1-4mins, a counter attack in 10-20mins, and a massive fleet ready to break the enemy on their own turf in just a few days.
"Thats rite! we did it once, we can do it again >:D !!! andthen ill slerp up the tears you have after we break all your defs and factories and chase you out of 0.0 and it wil taste so good! 'Slupr slup slup slup slir slirp slup slirp!' yum! " |

What the ****? This is the most bull**** thing I've read all day. No alliance will simply launch a massive fleet like that because some carebears got killed for being carebears. If they do, they will fail.

Ok, simple question:
If he is an "afk cloaker" then how does he light cynos/covert cynos and hot drop you with cap ships?
He's not "AFK" at all. He is actively playing his role as a cov-ops pilot, he's just waiting for the right moment to do so. Whether you agree with the time he stays in system before doing so, is not an issue.
Cloaks are, and always having been: working fine. If there is ever a counter to cloaking, then it would completely defeat the purpose OF cloaking. Cloaking = unable to find. Finding a cloak ship that's supposed to be unfindable = a broken mechanic.
Get out of 0.0 dude. You guys obviously can't handle it and don't have the resources to defend your space, plain and simple.
Also I lol'd:
"i think the AFK cloakers with cyno / covert cyno is a plauge in eve."
Then, bottom of your post:
"I have no problem with cloaking in generel its fine."

So let me see if I understand your point of view. The "huge risk" is really just a player away from his keyboard and cloaked in your system? Is that really what you're complaining about?
Are you seriously suggesting a lone player away from his keyboard is so much of a threat to an alliance that he can bring it to its knees?
Seriously?
The only thing more dangerous than an afk player is a soggy napkin.
