The latest chronicle, about a strange event in a familiar place, has been published. It was written by CCP Dropbear, and you can read it right here.

This is THE chron for any passionate channel RPer, including myself.
Has to go down as my favourite chronicle ever for that reason...even has some PF about Gallente/Caldari which I love. ------------ Luminaire General Seriphyn Inhonores Eleutherian Guard [FDU] |

oh wow
That was one of the best Epic stories I've read in a while and all that without loved ones dying in arms of other loved ones, trilogies and a terrible movie adapataion. Actually, I can't be sure about the Movie bit because this sounds like a quite good movie script. Does anyone mind asking Carl Sagan if he would mind coming back to life to narrate this? __________

Fantastic writing accompanied by plenty of riddles, hidden meanings, subtle nods and implications that will no doubt keep me distracted from work and other such important things more than is perhaps a good idea.
I would go so far as to say that you're worthy of an Aidonis for this chronicle, Dropbear. ;) |

This is the single most completely wonderful piece of EVE written since the Novels...
It has the elements of everything!!!
(Truth be told, I'm looking forward to Incarna even more now, first of all, I didn't think that was possible, secondly you guys better make 4-4 that epic when it is released.)
I particularly like the last sentence.

Well, that's the thing, understanding relies on common assumptions. For example, i could nitpick and point out that data is, well, data - VHDL source code doesn't have the processing capability of an actual ASIC. But i suppose this chron confirms that infomorphs are what they are suggested to be, even if it's not strictly realistic. I guess that explains some things.
Also, very atmospheric.

Ha ha ha ha ha, finally something to stop all the whiners asking for a cronicle that is mostly about Capsuleers, and it was jsut so epic in it's delivery. Delisiously long as well, like the laught I had at Heth's expense. (We are fighting Gallente influence, yeah right you are)
So much information. Helps underline 'soft' clones as well, if capsuleers can't have their minds cloned in new bodies from outside the pod then there would not be any reason to being afraid of them, to the point where you get shoot for sleeping in Jita 4-4 xD
Abraxes, please tell Dropbear we love him/her.

So I wrote this while stuck in JFK overnight, coming back from Fanfest. Couldn't sleep in the terminal, you see.
Anyways, it was a much less solid piece when it first hit the hands of Abraxas and Gnauton, and they shaped it up into what it is now, so I want to give them both my thanks here, and let their awesomeness be known to all.

I think i got pwned by a Chronicle
Seriously, this is a gem among the many great chronicles, it is directly linked to capsuleers and gives players a big slap in the face to geal real and know our place.
Thank you!

Ah, a chronicle about my two favorite places in all of EVE--wormholes, and Jita 4-4.
(And why do I keep feeling like Dropbear is trying to drop us hints about the next step in unraveling wormholes? With infomorphs like Jamul, etc. But I can't quite figure out what it is yet.)

Nice chron.
Something I've always kind of wondered is what happens if a capsuleer gets killed while not in a capsule - just while walking around on a station or planet etc. Since the cloning thing relies on a brain scan being taken the exact moment the pod is breached and sent to the new clone, and there's obviously no way to get a brain scan instantly while just walking around, is this the only circumstance in which a capsuleer can truly die?
Seems like quite the Achilles' heel if I'm understanding this right.

Edited by: Rei''un Zala on 07/09/2010 20:19:20 very nice... if i caught well enough(doubt it but that would be nice... ) were talking finally some development in the Enheduanni backgrounds(at least explaining how they came into existence or the state of existence for them? maybe?)
i've really been wanting some continuation of info from the historical backgrounds of Humanity in eve, and while i loved theocracy... i need more... and plus... we need some giant evil thing to focus on besides each other in the game... yey for badguys and more jove/enheduanni development..
who's with me?!

Edited by: Aelana Anais on 07/09/2010 20:35:12 Jeebus, thats a lot of references... I don't have an eidetic memory for lore like some people so I thought I would share a few:
http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Sani_Sabik (the term Sabik and frequent references to Omir Sarikusa) http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Blood_Raider_News (for the reference to Mabnen) http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/C3-FTM_Acid (C3)
I am still re-reading for other references anyone else?
