I dont know if any of you have played Nexus The Jupiter Incident, But in one of the missions their is huge support ship which has no weapons just fighters. It is able to project a massive shield just like the POS shield. The shield protected everything inside the shield 100%. Though in the game the only way to beat it was a weapon that required 3 ships to link together (energy wise not physicaly) and had to shoot the support ship that was projecting the shield. The shield could run off of fuel though it would not have R/E mode when it gets close to failing.
Just a thought that crossed my mind last night when i was chillin in POS. let me know what you think. Code CEO Knights Of Mars |

Suggested before. And siege laser isn't the only way to beat it, it's not even the best way. Shield is not solid and allows enemy ships in, just not weapons fire. Burn in and hit the support ship generation that shield. Hitting it with energy torps until it goes down also works, don't take long, it's not remotely as tough as POS shield in Eve. Different game, Nexus was about mobility and tactic, Eve is about blobbing and ehp grind.

Edited by: Code2200 on 15/09/2010 06:23:18 True its not Nexus but still i feel it could bring a little something extra to fleet PVP.
Also it allows ships through because on the kinetic energy that ships have compared to bullets lasers and missles. Code CEO Knights Of Mars |

Honestly... if you've ever been in a fleet with effective RR support (multiple Logistics ships or Triage carriers) you've found EVE's equivalent of this. Really, really well done RR groups are awesomely difficult to break; most methods of breaking them rely on effective electronic warfare support or drawing the ships they are repairing away from the repairers.
I honestly like this better than "big ship with an umbrella shield" because it relies on teamwork and effective cooperation to both make and break an RR group, putting the 'MMO' in 'MMORPG'. ----------------------------------------------
Say "Amarr ships suk, lol." I dare you.
