Why is it a touchy subject? How is Pakistan any different than Haiti, or New Orleans for that matter?
They're all just people dealing with natural disasters, which i suspect are going to become very, very, common, and probably make us all sick of caring so much, but thats beside the point. All the talk of invisible enemies lurking in Pakistan are US media induced delusions. And as far as corrupt governments go, pick any country and it's equally applicable.
And i'm ok with the mods deleting my previous posts, but i think this post needs to remain as a reality check for some people.
The difference is Pakistan have different cultural values.

It does entertain me that you can leave posts that say nothing more than: you guys are racist and remove posts that ask what transparency this charitable gesture has. When I donate to World Vison's Save the Children fund they are completely transparent in their allocation of funds. Please tell us where the money is going.

It's because the fools at CCP either don't know.. or don't care that some of the money is actually going to result in the deaths of innocent people.

Interesting that this personal insult gets left by moderator tidying the thread, but that my post pointing out this inane personal insult gets deleted.

Possibly. I personally think it is a nice gesture that may have benefits in the long run to international security. I also think it is incredibly arrogant to impose ones cultural values on others. I will not donate to an organisation that attempts to do so. So please CCP tell us where the money goes and how it will be utlised.
TBH the fact that you have been deleting posts requesting you address this (imposing your cultural values on a grey area topic) indicate you are more than willing to donate to an organisation who will use the funds not to help people on the ground but direct development in a manner that suits an agenda not entirely owned by the flood victims.

Small snipet taken from Wikipedia.
"Pakistan has been accused by India, Afghanistan, the United States,[14][15] the United Kingdom,[16] of involvement in terrorism in Kashmir and Afghanistan.[17] Poland has also alleged that terrorists have "friends in Pakistani government structures".[18] In July 2009, current President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari admitted that the Pakistani government had "created and nurtured" terrorist groups to achieve its short-term foreign policy goals.[19] According to a analysis published by Saban Center for Middle East Policy at Brookings Institution in 2008 Pakistan was the worlds 'most active' state sponsor of terrorism including aiding groups which were considered a direct threat to USA.[20]"

Earthquakes, Floods, fights with India, corrupt government, Al-qaeda Insurgents, Pakistan is sure a crappy place in live.
I think Mother Nature is doing us a favor by destroying such a place. The civilians should go elsewhere to less ****ty places.
1/5 of the country is flooded, it must be a Sign from The Glorious God himself to tell those Pakistanis to HTFU and go somewhere else.
Don't give them PLEX send them a postcard that says HTFU.

Originally by: devblog by CCP Fallout Beginning September 15, 2010 and ending on October 6, 2010, CCP will be accepting PLEX donations for the PLEX for GOOD: Pakistan program. Each donation will be converted into cash currency and donated to the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, a humanitarian and relief organization based in Pakistan that is working towards helping those affected by the flooding.
I would guess that any further inquiries as to how that money is allocated is better directed at the Red Crescent Society.

CCP have been given numerous chances to be upfront about where the funds donated to the pakistani flood victims go. They are are obstensivly refusing to answer this simple request.
The #1 reason eve players should have for not donating is the lack of transparency involved in the donation process.

In my opinion it is nothing but ignorant, biased and uninformed. He is just spreading hatred and repeating what fox news told him. But if you find these "opinions" of indoctrinated haters valuable, go ahead and read them.
Edit: Btw, I have nothing against people who have a different opinion than me. If they can back up their claims with facts I might even reconsider my POV. But that hasn't happened yet. They just keep repeating the same prejudices over and over again.

Shivercoin, I see your point and I know about these accusations. Still, I think as little as the people want to starve so their government can maintain nuclear weapons, as little they are ALL terrorist supporters. In my opinion, nothing speaks against helping poor people who are suffering a natural disaster under a corrupt government. But everyone is free to refuse to give aid.
In regards of your dilemma: CCP is not directly supporting Pakistan. They provide a platform for donations to the red cross. Maybe that helps you make your peace with this temporary campaign.

I'm not against helping those in need. But, I think people are as responsible for their own government as much as their government is responsible to provide them with aid. It can't always be the West's job to babysit everyone. This is compounded by the fact that it's considered by many to be a terrorist state. I hope this makes sense. I could go into it more but you probably get my point.

your nothing more then a racist and biggot, calling someone foul racist word isnt needed,
calling a country a terrorist state is far fetched considering that the United States sponsored and created the Taliban with the help of ISA in pakistan during the soviot campaign in afganistan so they would have a third front to fight on.
then you have groups in Iran, not forgetting the IRA, list goes on no country has clean hands and to condemn the people of the country due to the actions of their leaders is messed up. and supprise supprise when america needed support after the worst desaster people were willing to help and overlook what the country had done to others.

I think the biggest problem for most people is not knowing that the money we are giving is going to get to where it is intended to go.We all know how these donation orginisations scam people, its been proven over and over again.People collecting donations have to prove twice as hard now a days, that they are honest. And they have to be completely transperent.Which sorry to say,ccp is not. There are many accusations about things like this being pr or what not.Its ok to be silent on game development..its your company after all,but if you take on something like this I think you have to be open to discussions..and not just moderate the threads where people ask for details.Removing certain opinions and questions..and not others.Im sure we all want to help..but some of us lost trust in man kind (with good reason) and need to be shown that they are in fact..helping the people in need.
This is at least my point of view..if I knew for a fact that the plex I donate..goes 100% to the people that need it,id sell what I need to..to get that plex donated.People have little to no control today..over what their government does.I will not donate to any government..but only to an orginisation who goes straight to the people in need and gets them help.
example:what makes ccp pick the Pakistan Red Crescent Society over others?
Is CCP donating any funds to the collection?CCP is primarily facilitating this collection for the EVE community; however, the company will incur various indirect costs such as credit card transaction fees, fraud screening and the use of vast array of staff resources. CCP is happy absorb these extra costs for such a worthwhile cause.
Example2:what kind of "fraud screening"?
This is what I mean by being transperent.
I think its great that ccp is doing stuff like this..but this is a large sum of money being collected.I dont think a few details are too much to ask.
I will..after giving it alot of thought..probably donate one.Im not sure its going to help the people. But I do think the chance is worth a try..after all,its game money.
