Edited by: Stitcher on 16/09/2010 03:06:12 Given that I'm too poor to afford to buy PLEX in real life for the charity drive, I figured I'd auction off my most valuable ship - my faithful Tengu, the "Xenoscape"
She's configured for exploration and mild combat, and fitted with tech 2 shield rigs.
The link to the contract is in my bio in-game. 100% of the winning bid will be added to my own wallet money and used to buy as many PLEX as possible so that I can donate them.
The auction contract contains:
Tengu -Tengu Offensive Subsystem - Accelerated Ejection Bay -Tengu Defenseive Subsystem - Adaptive Shielding -Tengu electronics Subsystem - Emergent Locus Analyser -Tengu Engineering Subsystem - Power Core Multiplier -Tengu Propulsion Subsystem - Fuel Catalyst
High slots- 5x Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II 1x Expanded Probe Launcher I 1x Salvager I
Mid slots - 1x 10MN Afterburner II 1x Analyzer II 1x Codebreaker II 1x Large Shield Extender II 2x Invulnerability Field II
Low Slots- 2x Ballistic Control System II 1x Damage control II
Ammunition- 6,454x Caldari Navy Terror Assault Missile 20x Sisters Core Scanner Probe
Rigs- 2x Medium Core Defence Field Extender II 1x Medium Gravity Capacitor Upgrade I
The Auction is located at Yulai IX - CONCORD Bureau. It was created on 2010.09.16 at 02:56 with a duration of one week and a starting bid of 550.00 million ISK. Please give generously, and spread the word to any wealthy friends/ISD reporters you may know.
Thank you. -

You need to use a third party, a reliable (as much as is possible)one to do this before I'd consider bidding.
I'm not saying it is the case, nor am I questioning your character when I say this but without a third party dealing with this, there is nothing to stop you from pocketing an inflated profit as a result of the charity tag on the auction.
Use a third party who will donate the PLEX in your name and hold the ship for the buyer and I'd consider it a real charity.

I understand, but I think in this case that it's not necessary.
CCP have said, quote:
Quote: [we regard] any scamming attempts surrounding this effort to be morally reprehensible and they will be met with swiftest action.
I am trying to make this auction as public as possible to drum up interest and bids, and will happily give my limited API key as well to prove that this is my main character if that's what people want. I don't really think that a third party is entirely necessary in this case, but I'll ask around for character witnesses regardless.
does that sound fair?

The guy said a reliable third party, not you.
That said, he doesn't need a third party. CCP will be the third party and nuke anybody that tries to scam with this event.

Yep. I don't know exactly what the penalty would be, but it'd be harsh. We're talking at least confiscation of the money and a temporary ban, if not a permanent one. Given what's at stake, I reckon a third party service would be surplus to requirements. -

Im sure if you asked a third party they would do it for free since it is for charity.

I'd be interested in bidding if you use a 3rd party.

Stitcher's a good guy, no one should be worried about him ripping them off.
If people are happy with me acting as a third party then I'm free to do so without issue.
