Edited by: LukAsh on 03/02/2005 10:38:54 Good day everyone.
I'm proud to announce that my latest invention "mDCM" will be sold from tommorow (31.12) morning in Amarr system. Little about this best "regular" mining laser:
The modulated deep core miner is a technological marvel that combines the capacities of the commonly used Miner II with that of the deep core mining laser. Using a modular mining crystal system it can be altered on the fly for maximum efficiency in the job at hand. It¦s important to remember however that without the proper crystals this unit is really only useful for mining mercoxit and nearly useless for most anything else.
The laser is already best fitted for mining mercoxit, but you can modulate its beam using mining crystals (just like in Modulated Strip Miners II). This makes those miners best alternative for pilots who think that there is nothing better for mining than tanked Apoc
You can view detailed information on this technological marvel through market interface.
Tech 1 crystals info on page 2
The price is set for 14M a piece.

That's why JGR is JGR.
Much respect.
If only the Cap Recharger II BPO holders would follow his lead.

eh, why is this so cheap? 10M for a mining laser seems expensive to me. But they are expensive to build maybe?

Thats not a bad price at all. I'll definatly be contacting you about purchasing some. Anyway, a quick question about them: it says they mine base 120 units/180 seconds, but then also says the "specialty crystal mining amount" is 120 units. How do these two numbers add up? If i mount a veld mining crystal will the miner mine 240 units/180 seconds (120+120)? Or will it just mine 120 ore units when fitted with, for example, a veld crystal?

Supply and demand good sir...limited supply + great demand = 15mil for a Cap II that costs 100k to build

flame ? what flame
correction , less then 500k to make. you guys should go check the item database before jumping up and down at the supposed cheap prices these guys are selling for . 20X the production cost isnt very CHEAP
the only use i can see for them right now is that their listed cpu is 2/3 of a DCM miner .

If I understand correctly (but don't hold me for it, many times descriptions on new items were a bit misleading) when you mount any mining crystal you should get the second bonus (another 120 per cycle). And if you mine an ore with matched crystal you get crystal bonuses. But I didn't test this, as I don't have any mining crystals, not to mention skills to operate mDCM
As for the price I don't really want to comment. 10M is what I think is sensible at this time. Especially that with those miners you'll make enough money in no time to cover their cost.
BTW first batch just went on the market, I have many orders from my friends and corpmates so for a week or so market supply will be sparse (6 lasers a day propably), sorry for that.

BTW Has anyone got any crystal BPO yet? Maybe you would like to sell it or cooperate in some kind of way? If so pls contact me
Also I heard rumor that agents drop them in their rewards, anyone can confirm this?

It doesn;t matter how much he sells them for, its upply and demand. People will pay higher because its a high demand item in low supply. if LukAsh undercharged then all that would happen is that people would buy and resell at the higher price. and the Laser would still be reguarded as being worth that higher price even if he sold them for 5mil each.
Speaking as the owner of a Modulated Strip Miner II BPO, I know this already and have had people reselling my product for more isk in different regions.

I beg your pardon. You're totally wrong. Supply and demand yes, but demand and cartel-hoarding + lack of any monopoly commissions = 15mil for a Cap II that costs 100k to build. Thought the world learned that easy lesson from the great depression at least. Supply and demand could equal maybe 1mil for an item that costs 100k to build. Given it was bad times ofc.

Calculation of mining amount:
Skills: Mining lev 5 Astrogeology lev 5 (only skills that affact output, DCM skill affact damage clouds from merox roids) Mining crystal: 162,5% boost to output
Calculation: Modulated Deep Core Miner: Base*mining crystal modifier*mining skill bonus*astrogeology skill bonus=output each cycle(180 sec) without mining crystal: 120*1*1,25*1,25=187,5 avrange each 60 sec 62,5 with mining crystal: 120*2,625*1,25*1,25=492 avrange each 60 sec 164 Miner 2 (cycle 60 sec): 60*1,25*1,25=93,75
bonuses in EVE is multiplied, so this will probably be the formular, if numbers don't match plz correct me
