So I have made 1 bil isk from trading and ratting in 0.0. Which i found easy. Most people in 0.0 are cash rich. I buy low sell high easy money.
Now i want to use the isk for something else that can get me a reasonable return on my investment. I am training my trading skills at the moment will take me about a month to get to a decent level where i can compete with those in jita etc. Apart from that i am at a loss. My manufactering skills are average. I could train those and buy some BPO's but that does not really appeal to me that much.
Obviously i am not asking for anyone to give me their trade secrets but maybe someone who wants to work together and teach me how to turn my capital into much more, we can share the profits.
Cheers,
Disco

spend the 1b on prostitutes and crash and get another billion for more prostitutes and crash!
anyways you have a billion so now you can put up like 3-4bil in buy orders with that one skill and hopefully turn that into 210302billions!
or invest the 1b into me, but I will warn you up front I really like prostitutes and crash (sometimes some blue pill too)

Your second one?
If you find it easy just keep doing what you're doing. A billion capital is a nice amount to trade with. You should be able to make a couple more billion before you find the returns/growth starts to drop. You are unlikely to find any tips when it comes to target items to trade as you move into higher value trades, this is something you will have to research for yourself.
If manufacturing doesn't interest you then don't do it. It's not an instant money spinner and BPO's aren't I-WIN items. Production is one way to utilise your capital to earn more ISK but it's not for everyone. Earning money doing something you enjoy is more important. Trading is very flexible and doesn't have to require the planning and discipline that manufacturing or other operations require.

No. You need to pick the right items to bid on and consider how you can get them without updating the order all the time. For instance, you can set a higher buy order than those that are already there, if you calculate that your profit will be worth it. You can work in steps towards a price ceiling that is acceptable to you, but maybe will keep others from bidding along with you. ----------------------- "Signatures" chatroom / Hydra Fund / LLSE Stock Market |

Ask this again when you have 10's of billions :(
Lemme know if you find a good answer.... the first billion is/was tough... at least it use to be. I don't know how it is for the newbies now.
Once you figure out the first billion you should be able to replicate your success and scale it up with the excess isk you are generating.
After a while you will hit another wall when you can't scale your methods anymore with the excess isk you are brining in. Then it becomes an issue of amount of work you are willing to perform vs isk you want to accumulate.

After YOUR first 1 Bil?
You post in MD to massage your ego.
But seriously, there are other things you can do with items. With your ever expanding capital, try to buy out a market in 0.0. Look for easy-to-control markets (low value of goods listed) of vital items (ammo, t1 modules, t2 modules, rifters) then crush people's dreams by buying it and relisting. It won't make you any friends and might get you a wardec, but whatever, if you are a trader you certainly know how to avoid spectacular losses anyway. _________ Eve - for when I'm not playing minecraft ;) |

0.o buy high-cost, low(er %) yield BPOs and make those work? You should be able to find ones with higher profit/slot but longer ROI. *** Wish list for PI:

1billion is hardly nothing, its what, 2 cruisers? maybe 1 Battleship? 1/2 a carrier?
When you get 1trillion you can then ask 'what next' ;0

Edited by: Her Hotness on 17/09/2010 01:54:24 boo on those that don't respect achievements that need to be taken in proper context. Haven't checked OP's age-in-game, but 1B is a huge sum for a a above average player <3-4 months into the game, and for most players at any time. I've run across lots of high sec players that mine or do missions and they're all excited when they have enough to buy a hulk, or an orca or ??? and are concerned with the loss of those ships on a day-to-day basis. Give props to OP for achieving what he views as a milestone in his career.
Good job, take it to the next level through more trading, market manipulation on small scales, or just give 1M each to a bunch of noobs in a starter system and have a hoard of groupies worshiping you for months because you helped them get ahead in the game as a 2-day old character.
just stay the **** outta Dodixie lol

My advice would be to scale your ambitions as I did and aim for one trillion isk.
Consider utilising other peoples assets, there are some interesting opportunities for doing this such as http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1384666 Not in an alliance |

1 Billion is nothing when you get to 10 or 100 billion then is an acheivment is only 33 1/3 mill/day for 30 days any miner, mission runner, or 0.0 ratter should be able to make that easy now making a billion/day is impressive

Lol at M blanc. I am an organic chemist so I am making complex molecules on a daily basis. Thanks for all of your replies. To those which were negative, I take on board that in your experience as master traders with trillions it may seem easy for you. But i am new to empire trading surely you rememeber what it was like when you first started?
I spent a weekend in Jita and maganaged to make 200 mill over 2 days. Which is not a bad start. As i train my skills to higher levels so I can make more orders then i hope to make more.
Cheers,
Disco
