I am currently using Windows 7. Before, when I was playing on Windows XP, I could just slide the top of the window off screen so only the actual game itself was showing. Now whenever I try to do that it just snaps back and it won't let me see the entire window. A small part of the game is shoved off screen at the bottom because of the bar at the top. I took a screen shot to show you what I am talking about.

I'm trying to move that bar off screen with my mouse, but it keeps snapping back into place when I try to do it. This wasn't a problem in Windows XP and it let me do it no problem. Is there an option within Windows 7 or Eve itself to fix this or am I doomed to see that stupid bar forever? --- My cat Putter approves of this post. |

Use EveMon and set it to resize the window.
There are other little tools that can do the job, as well (I think one is called Eve Mover).

This is very useful, also for running more than one client.

Oh sweet. I didn't know Evemon could do that. You are awesome! Thanks! --- My cat Putter approves of this post. |

BTW, the newest SiSi client can be resized when in windowed mode and the EVE-Mon relocator no longer works properly (it no longer removes the borders, so the end effect is exactly what you're trying to prevent now). You never know if it will make it onto TQ like that or they'll also add the option to make it borderless, or if the guys at EVE-Mon might update their relocator to compensate.
You can also return Win7 to pre-Win7 functionality (allowing you to hide most of the top bar off-screen) by disabling the annoying "drag to edge to relocate" feature. You do that in Control Panel -> Ease of Access -> Ease of Access Center -> Make the mouse easier to use -> ENABLE "prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen".

EVEWinHelper
Move your windowed EVE so it appears fullscreen. Works excellently and no need to run heavy apps like EVEMon in the background. Sol: A microwarp drive? In a battleship? Are you insane? They arenĘt built for this! Clear Skies - The Movie

Thanks, this also helps a lot. Finding these settings and options is just stupid in Windows 7. In Windows XP it was obvious because control panel was streamlined and it was obvious where certain settings would be based on the name of the icons.
Turning off that stupid UAC thing was also a major pain in the ass as well. Thanks for your help. --- My cat Putter approves of this post. |
