I recently trained avdanced from 0 to lvl 3 and not noticing any real differences the surevey amounts I get when I restarted my reactors. Am I just misunderstanding the use/explaination of the description of these skills?

They don't improve the amounts ù just the precision in how well the scan reports back the hotspots.
If you're willing to spend a few bucks, you can get pretty much the same result by deploying a bunch of extractors and see how much they pick up, and then nuke the ones that provide poor results.
It's not quite clear how it will work with the new extraction system ù on the one hand, they provide real-time estimates as you move the extraction points around, which should let you do the same thing even more efficiently, but on the other hand, it has an "estimate error" that might be connected to your skills (no mention of such a connection has been made, but it kind of makes sense and I wouldn't be surprised to see it as they keep developing). ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

New better spots sometimes appear with the additional skill levels.
It doesn't improve any spot on the planet. It shows where on the planet the best spots are.

Edited by: Josorna on 25/09/2010 21:44:05 Eve Uni wiki has some good images about how the planet surveys change as planetology gets leveled:

For the Saturday mass test, CCP announced they are using a different software branch on SiSi. They will change the load back later after the test (Monday IIRC).
