I just wrote a reply to a previous thread about the use of PLEXes, but I will just copy & paste it to let others to give here their opinions:
1) A PLEX could buy a 2x speed of training for a month. So you need a PLEX (or to pay the subscription) to play a month AND another PLEX to double the speed of skilling. This could give people the possibility to train faster their characters AND would not give the possibility to buy an istant fully trained character.
If the announced "PLEX for remap" go in effect, people (like me) will be able to train their character 30-50% faster (No waste when training Charisma, Memory or Willpower based skills, no need to complete a full year before remapping). A fully trained character, in EVE, need something like 18-20 years to complete all skills.
2) A PLEX for allowing the skilling of two characters at the same time (and two PLEXes for allowing the skilling of three characters in the same time). Three PLEXes and you could be able to skill all of your three characters int he same time.

I guess that the more uses for any object, incl. PLEX is the better, as it multiply options, which are creating 'sandbox' style of EVE. So, +1 for more uses

It's a decent enough idea, but it fails to take a rather significant fact into account: ISK is damn easy to get.
For it to work as intended CCP would need to: - Nerf FW missions hard, they yield 100M+/hr easy and are easily farmed. Problem is the easy nature allows actual FW players an income source to burn in combat so you hit them pretty hard. - Nerf plex and belt ratting in 0.0, staggering income from this age-old occupation. Can be done be tweaking spawns, bounties, sleeper AI and/or nerfing cloaks. - Regulate markets to prevent people from literally making billions in a few hours manipulating prices. - Nerf moons .. again. Passive income from Tech especially is insane. - Regulate character trade as it will be flooded with characters made by use of ISK. Etc. Etc. Etc.
All the above is of course based on the assumption that a majority of GTC are bought and paid for by ISK farmers and other RMT evil-doers which I seriously suspect is the case.

The idea doesn't affect demand/supply of isk directly, so, while you may be right it doesn't affect the topic about plex. PLEX may become more expensive in isk if demand goes up, but the volume of PLEX does not generate/sink isk.

...and all you want is to remain on top. See how stupid it sounds when you try and act like you know other people's motives. I myself don't want a free pass and a full month at 2x speed is too much. I think a plex for 2 days at 2x speed allowed only once a month would be epic and perfect. Unabuseable and there for emergency trains when the situation demands it.
Hell, even if you could trade plex for 2x speed for the month and you did it every month, its would still take 10 years to max everything out and by then there would most likely be 5 times the skills available.

you says i am on top?:) the problem is that many new people who rush into the big ships early just end up as expensive loss mails, because they dont understand the game. (be it pvp or loosing battleships in lvl3s) same goes for new player who directly buy their toons from the bazaar after a month or 2.
by the time you got the skillpoints for the bigger stuff you hopefully understand the game well enough to fly those ships.
and the time frame doesnt really matter. if you give them 1 day, they will start whining that they need a week or a month worth. just as it happened with the skill queue. patience is a virtue and people live much better when they learned that.

maybe rather then a fixed amount of time it could be a speed boost for the next X amount of SP trained...
1 Plex for a 2x boost to SP per hour for the next 2 million SP.
that way your not screwed if your mobo fries and your out of a week of training time.

Your points are "stupid people need to be prevented from doing stupid things that would harm them". What wrong could come from stupid people maxed out that are not in an organized corp or ally? What wrong could come to us if they lose too many BS, T3 Cruisers or capital ships? Or maybe they forget to update their clones?
Currently, super rich people can ista-buy +5 sets and train faster than others with less isk available. If you are really wealthy, you can have a set ready in your med station and when podded, you awake there, put up the new set and return to your max skilling and doing what you like. You can use pills to raise your skill more.
It doesn't matter. You need also a ship (that must be built, the ore excavated from roids). It is not that 100 new titan pilots in a day can jump on 100 titans the next day. There are not simply 100 titans available and probably there is not enough minerals to build them. And , anyway, you need time to build them.
Without stuff, and there is not enough of it, a maxed out ton is in a pod like each other. Now, if they want to buy more plexes to be able to pay for their shiny ships and fittings and modding, good for all. There will be more request for minerals, ships, moon materials, Planetary resources, builders, etc. A maxed out character in EVE is not so powerful, because he can not use all of its skill together. It depends on the ship he is on at the time and its fitting.
By the way, I note no one raged against the possibility to train three characters in the same time in the same account using plexes.

Trading some plex for some variation of skill training bonus I'm not apposed to, it would be nice if you could train one of your alts at least, using a plex method, ie allow your alt to co train whilst your main is still training.
Other than that, if you could trade them for out of game items like eon magazine subscriptions, ship models / t shirts or other merch? that would be pretty dandy.
hell maybe even drinking time with a dev to rant your particular peev's?
this would all help to remove in game isk from the system. which would benefit everyone.
