had the patch fail to update properly
had the repair.exe fail to repair
forget the steps now but got the repair.exe to work
found a forum post from CCP that repair.exe 3.05 is available
thought my version was higher so restarted repair.exe and found I have version 3.06...woot
moved and re-sized windows a lot
spent hours in the forums looking for solutions/CCP response to problems with the patch
learned that I can get a $7.00 discount on EVE race tees from J!NX
ran one mission
realized my subscription was 13 hours from charging my credit card
made 16 jumps to the hangar with the PLEX in it so I don't have to pay for the next 30 days (I was saving it in case I really needed ISK for something later)(I know I paid for it when I bought the PLEX)
wished I had not given away all my WOW gold and stuff before I quit playing
noticed my rigs look really big in the fitting window
hoped the GMs answer petitions in order received, because I put one in the night before the patch
looked for a new game to waste time playing
hesitate to do anything in the game since there could be a rollback, or I could get ganked undocking like the guy with the supercomputer
wish CCP would post something about the problems (we're working on it, considering rollback, no chance of rollback, SOMETHING)
hope they fix the problems before I decide to give up on EVE and play something else

There will be no roll back.
You need a real computer, one with an Apple logo on it, then you wont have these problems.
You play wow and ***** and moan on the forums. Weird right?
When I realized my rigs looked big in my fittings window I also realized that the game is totally unplayable and that I now need to pull my foot out of my mouth because this is total grounds for a rollback.

I opened EVE, and it told me I needed to download. I said "go ahead". The OS then asked permission to let it run. It ran.
I opened EVE... got 350+ in queue to login. Closed and tried again. Now 400+. Bio break for lunch.
Come back, log in.
I noticed the corp mate icon is missing.
I am told by a corp mate that they added align to book mark, so I checked that out. COOL!
I hear from corpmates that extractors are starting faster, but I don't bother to check that out as I've not restarted extractors in 3 months.
I then ran a bunch of mission, teamed up with corp mates for some fun, stayed up late trying to complete current corp incentive. went to bed.
Got up early this morning, ran a COSMOS plex to get some items a corp mate needed, went and farmed Angels Extravaganza for a quick 20 million ISK plus salvaged with my alt.
Then, thinking salvag may drop in price with the addition of that really sweet salvage ship they will be adding, I went ahead and sold off about 700 million ISK worth of trit bars, armor plates, and tripped Power circuits I'd been salvaging up over the last 2 months or so.
I turned in some tags to data centers for a bit more boost in faction standing so my alt can sign up with a better R&D agent. I then set auto-pilot in my rookie ship to go 14 jumps to the ally data center so I could turn in more tags later. I then left the client running its rookie ship autopiloting and went to work.

I did the following: - Updated my skills - Transported 3 billion ISK in a prorator across 70 jumps of 0.0/empire space - Noticed that the overview seems much more responsive - Put a bunch of frigs and a Loki in the oven - Fit a Proteus - Put up a bunch of buy/sell orders
Overall, the patch worked great for me.

The only problem I've had (other than the epic downtime) has been that my windows don't stay where I put them, namely wrecks and the items window.

I'm not really sure what you mean. The patch didn't have any problems outside of the forewarned problem of my windows unstacking. It took me a few minutes to rearrange my windows - mostly because I didn't notice that it'd stickied all my windows.

had no issues with realizing there was going to be a patch.
had no issues downloading or updating the TQ client.
had no issues with my skill training because i planned ahead (and not just because it was patchday. when i log off, anything can happen. i always plan for unexpected situations, self made, accidental, or CCP/ISP inflicted.)
had no issues flying around and checking out the "new stuff" in the patch.
checked out the market, station spun, i even loaded up an indy FULL of minerals and hauled it to lowsec space (0.2).
spent a few minutes setting up some manufacturing jobs.
went out and did some scanning and ratting.
did not lose a ship.

Since the patch has been released i did the following
Downloaded the patch, it takes about 15 minutes cause the line is slow.
Open Eve, Logon, Bulk Data 5/46 client crashes. Open Eve, Logon, Bulk Data 5/46 client crashes. Open Eve, Logon, Bulk Data 5/46 client crashes. Open Eve, Logon, Bulk Data 5/46 client crashes. And no I am not kidding, missed my skill change, I have more than one account on different machines with exactly the same problem.
Will let you know when i quit trying to get in and no you can not have my stuff when i quit the game cause i wont be able to logon anyways to give it to you.

Still not sure why you are putting "computer" and "Apple" in the same sentence, but I am amused by this patch that introduces Apple-only fixes, breaks the game for a bunch of people, and now the Jobsophiles are coming out telling us we need their junk. That would be like Alienware peeps claiming everyone needed their keyboards when they released that "feature" as a "patch".

I've updated the client, run missions, traded a bit, fitted ships, done PI, travelled, used JC's, stopped and started R&D agents and more... The only small problem is that the window handling has a few small issues. No biggie... it is much, MUCH MORE than compensated for by the increase in PI responsiveness!
Overall, a reasonably well executed patch

No, CCP would be better off pulling a Tabula Rasa and just shutting it down. Stupid waiting game of finishing skills (grinding the core skills at the moment, started in May, focusing on drones/gun right now, and wrapping up around Febuarary when Marauder 5 dings over), was going to play this weekend until I noticed multiple items on the overview of the same thing has killed my enjoyement of EVE right now. Going to take a break for a bit, enjoy the -1 to server processing computations

1) Opened eve. 2) Found myself #430 in line to log in 3) Tried again, was #290 4) Cruised the forums a few minutes 5) Finally logged in 6) Noticed corp members were now shown as militia members instead 7) Tried to move corp icon above militia in overview settings, didn't work as it was already set that way 8) Discussed bugs with corp mates 9) Logged off
Thus far you shall read, but no further; for this is my sig. |
