hello everyone,
i am currently contemplating on getting a pve alt to run hisec missions. i do not want to buy a char but i have the resources for a set of +5 implants etc. my question would be: is there already an optimized skill plan to powerlevel a pve tengu pilot from scratch? if not, are there any resources regarding skill plan optimization?

There's this thread maybe: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=53057
Also I've not tried EVEMon but are there any included skill plans in that, or can you google evemon plans to import to it? I don't know I've not installed EVEMon or tried it yet. |

I did suggest following the recommended certs for a tengu such core competency standard, active shield tanking and cruiser missiles standard before actually training up for the ship itself. This way, you can actually fly the ship good and proper rather than just sitting in it.
At least that's what I'm doing for my alt. |

This post may give you some pointers - old forum post
However, if you know what fit you will be using, then you can build it in EFT, then right click on each module individually and the fit in general and note down all the skills. Then use EVEMon to build a targeted skill plan to achieve them.
I've done this a few times for specific ships and fittings - it's fiddly, but it works! Just make sure you don't neglect the fitting, cap and navigation skills.
ninja edit: note that a lot of the drake skills carry over nicely to the tengu |

I have flown a PVE Tengu for years. I can tell you that it is a ship where perfect skills make it shine. And better mods are noticably better.
If you lose a skill from dying, going backwards really feels like a lot less. Especially with the Offensive and Defensive subs.
I recommend perfect subsystems, and a goal of perfect Heavy Missile skills. |

thank you all for the answers, unfortunately they are not very helpful. i already have a tengu pilot myself, i have also already toyed with evemon and i have a general idea of how to skill. my question was whether there already exists THE skillplan for a pve tengu pilot, optimized for training time, implants etc. do i go for +5 or +4 implants? when exactly do I remap? which support skills are important enough to get to 5? these are the questions i have...

I have never seen "The Skillplan" and I think many things would be subjective in a plan like that. Some questions you can only answer yourself, or use evemons skill-plan calculater to do the formulation, based on all your own input. Evemon would be the source that anyone else would create the plan from anyway.
That said: Tengu is gonna be basicly 2 major attribute sets. Perception and Willpower Intel and Memory
Chances are, you are already commited to 1 of these remaps. So the best 'optimal' for you would be to continue Tengu related skills with the current map you have. Then remap when you're satisfied with the completed levels. This approach would be 'optimal' training and doesn't need any fancy plan calculator. I do recommend V's, but only you can determine if IV's or V's is the goal. I will list a couple exceptions below.
Active Hardners: The shield comps at IV is fine Missile Specs: Spec skills at IV is generally fine for years Strategic Cruiser skill at III Thermodynamics at IV Nav skills at IV
Subsystems are so short..Not worth remapping over. Subsystems and everything else, seriously, I like at V.
If you are starting a character from inception, totally new, use these guidelines to make an evemon plan that is all you. If it is a High-sec only toon, +5 implants are pretty safe, but still up to your judgement. I pvp a lot, so I never owned them.. +4's train most of my stuff at 2610 and thats fine by me.
For ideas, you might look in the character bazaar, or eveboard itself. Hope I helped a little. Though it's still not quite what you have asked for. |
