I've been playing for just over 2 months now, and have been happily doing C2 and C3 wormhole combat sites in my Drake for a while, but every now and again get taken down PvP.
After voicing my concerns to my corpmates (who have been playing for WAY longer than I have, hence the WHS sites) they gave me a tackle-fit Incursus...
[Incursus, fetid] Damage Control I Co-Processor I
1MN MicroWarpdrive I Stasis Webifier I Warp Scrambler I
Light Ion Blaster I, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S Light Ion Blaster I, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S Light Ion Blaster I, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
Small Ancillary Current Router I Small Capacitor Control Circuit I Small Capacitor Control Circuit I
Hobgoblin I x1
-----------------
Looking at EFT, if I'm reading this right, I can do 79 dps and have a dpsr of 3 (three) along with total cap depletion in 1m 17s.
Surely there's nothing that this ship would actually win against in PvP?
They're all in bed now so I can't question them about it.
Would it be silly of me to be looking for PvP fights in wormhole space with this?

Im guessing that you couldn't take out that Harbinger. A harbi should have drones that should eat you quite quickly.
Your corp mates probably gave you that ship to tackle ships so that they could finish them off. You should try to work with your corp to take down enemies instead of flying solo.
If you have no other option then to fly solo, you should be able to take down cruiser size ships that dont have lots drones or missile or good tracking. That does limit your target selection to ships like a moa fit with rails. Watch out for close range guns 'cause they might still hit you quite hard.

Edited by: iKill Giants on 06/10/2010 01:21:12 No, you're probably fine for PvP, but I hope I'm reading this wrong when I get the impression you engaged a Harbinger solo. You're in a gang tackle, which means you keep him pinned while the rest of them melt his face. Your guns do a little, but your biggest asset is your warp disruptor and speed.
Edit:\\ Went back, re-read, still sounds like solo. But given your cap time, you're still a pretty early player. Tackling is what you're best for right now, and no, you can't kill anything. Not alone, at least.

Train projectiles to 4 and use this. using an all level 4 eft character it runs forever on the ab at 80% cap and 8 minutes on mwd both with the scrambler running. So use the mwd to quickly get under the harbs guns then turn on the ab on a tight orbit and his guns won't hit you as kill his drones before they kill you especially if you get in a lucky jam or two which is totally possible with even one ecm drone. You won't kill him as I don't think you can get past the regen if its shield tanked but if your mates are handy then it should do the job till they can take over. And if not then at least you tried and lost practically nothing isk wise but gained some experience.

I got away from him and got back into my Drake.
He had returned to his POS and is now in an Armageddon.
Should I still avoid him?
Hope he doesn't read this forum. :-)
