What are all the possible ways to pay for Eve Online if you don't have a credit card, there is NO way for me to ask my parents.
I heard there are Visa Gift Cards I could buy?, but I'm not too sure where to get them or how they work.
My first payment was with a PLEX ingame.

If your from the United States, most stores like Wal-Mart have prepaid debit cards at the checkout counters. Those should theoretically work as they are Visa debit cards from what I have seen. Otherwise if you have a bank account you can access you can use paypal, just link your paypal to your bank account and it should theoretically work. _____ When going to a party with wine, women, and song. Anywhere else I can get them? I was thinking of getting to a convenience store.
Paypal requires to be 18 thought, doesn't it?

Another option is to earn enough ISK to buy PLEXs off of the normal market or contract market. They run about 300+ mil in some areas and you get about 30 days of game time. _______________________

Try a chain pharmacy, like a CVS or Rite-Aid or Walgreens (depending on what part of the country you live in). Alternatively, you could just ask someone else (an older sibling? grandma?) to pay by debit/credit card, and you pay them cash. This would probably be annoying if it were monthly, so I'd recommend doing a 6 month or 12 month subscription.

Isn't the game rated for 18+ anyhow? Don't know that you're supposed to be playing without parental permission in most states anyhow, though I don't know that it's actually illegal. ---

Haven't been able to reach the big 3 mark monthly yet. Pretty close though, with 200m.
I can't ask anyone to buy it for me because it just seems rude. :\
I'll try Walgreens or CVS.

What part of rated T for teen eludes you? Let me help end your confusion:
Originally by: ESRB TEEN Titles rated T (Teen) have content that may be suitable for ages 13 and older. Titles in this category may contain violence, suggestive themes, crude humor, minimal blood, simulated gambling, and/or infrequent use of strong language.

if you want to play eve using cash there is a way to do it but it costs $5.00 a transaction go to wal-greens or wal-mart and find MoneyPak, they charge you $5.00 for buying the card + whatever money you want to put on it. THIS IS NOT RECOMMENDED UNLESS YOU HAVE AT LEAST $30 TO PUT IN IT AND THE $5 TO PAY FOR THE CARD. the minimum amount of cash you can put in a MoneyPak is $20. the reason is that so you don't have to pay an additional $5 to pay for it. also you will have to wait 60 minutes for the card to be active.
that and you will have some issues with payment as well. CCP website will want a credit card. what you will need to do is put the money in the paypal account BEFORE starting the subscription/transaction from the CCP end.
when the website comes up and requests a credit card. you hit submit or cancel ONCE, then wait 5 minutes and refresh your paypal account balance page and see if anything changes. if nothing changes press the other button, wait another 5 minutes and refresh your paypal account again. there should be a charge.
if you screw up you will have mistakenly added 2 charges to your account and you only had money to pay for one. if you had linked your paypal to a credit card both payments will go though regardless if you had the money or not.
if you didn't link it to a credit card. once charge will go though and the other will be "waiting for payment" but might be cancelled after a set amount of time.

From the EVE Online ToS:
Quote:
C. Children
i. Responsibility for Account Minor children may not establish an Account without the consent of a parent or guardian. If the user of EVE is a minor, a parent or guardian must complete the registration process to establish an Account, in which case the parent or guardian takes full responsibility for all obligations under the EULA and for all activities of the child using the Account. If you are a parent or guardian, you may permit one child to use the Account instead of you (in which case you may not use that Account).
I believe that's the reference Greybeard was talking about.

I think that core audiences in the West are big fans of simply paying that monthly subscription and getting everything, and so I think we're going to stick with that. --S |

Given that he specifically mentions ratings and possible illegality, I'm doubting it, but I'm willing to concede I may have pulled out the mockage stick without giving him the proper time to clarify his position.
Still, I like the mockage stick. Even when it chances to bite me on the ass. --Vel

I was referring to the fact that online interaction is considered "unrated" (i.e. 18+) for pretty much any game according to the ESRB. I wasn't aware that the game itself was rated T, and in fact I find it odd given that the advertisements explicitly promote antisocial behavior.
I guess my puzzlement over the rating is cleared up by the ToS requiring parental permission for minors though. That may have been what I was remembering when I assumed the game was M (I didn't buy a box, so didn't see a rating, but I did read the ToS, albeit months and months ago). ---
