I'm new to both the forums and programing for EVE interaction. So please forgive me if this has been discussed before.
I have an idea of using the in game browser for interaction with a website for corp/alliance. It would be incredibly cool if it could be set up to inherit the identity of the user opening the site in the IGB so as to bypass a member log in on the site. Is this possible? Can the IGB auto transfer the name of the character that is being played when it opens? And for that matter, any other information, such as corp/alliance/faction affiliations? or even the location upon opening?

posted in the wrong forum too, should be over in the eve tech lab, where folks discuss third party applications such as IGB sites. http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=channel&channelID=3525
but yes, the IGB passes certain headers in the page request that your web site can use to get an idea of the user. but you can't trust these as they are very easy to spoof, you'll still need some form auth authentication on your site if you want it to be at all secure. -We So SeXy |
