That sounds boring as ****, and for what? For highsec carebears to realise they hate it just as much getting killed after 10 minutes in lowsec as they do after 30 seconds. For a rush of explorers to come in and squabble over sites for a day or two, only to find every site after that gobbled up by a competitor or not worth the time to run...
This is an utterly pointless endeavour and the negatives not only outweigh the positives, they simply dwarf them. There should be a rather awesome pic here |

So the point your making is that you only get those fights you want at the gates / stations because those are movement choke points. I get that, not all pvpers hang out at gates to fight other pvp gangs though. If you want that level of pvp doesn't a wardec create that for you? Heck wardec several corps. Maybe a trade off might be to lower the cost of wardecs. Just select a pvp gang you want to attack and go get em.
So they need something to protect those players who want to mission in low sec. I suspect there may be some scan distortion equipment on deadspace gates being looked at just for that purpose. I don't see any of these developments as bad for the game. In fact, I think they are critical to bring and RETAIN new players.

Made something silly like 150 navy omens in a week, and it's not cashout time yet.

Well said Demon. I went from High, to 0.0 and back to High a few times, bypassing most of low sec for those reasons. Crap for mining, sec status hits when I fool around pvping, and I will admit, gate camps are a royal pita. I do hope they give more reasons for pple to hit low sec, the newer players in particular. Would love to see a slope going from high - low - 0.0. |

dont give me clocked up crap that getting really old. You say you want a good fight let ships in that dont need cloak for first 30 secs there in low sec. The more poeple that get into low sec with ships that are not cloak the more kills in turn youll get for the fact you can lock them.
As for the ramp up in dps they did that for the fact they could see people bring in a triage carrier so there fleet could still take the gate guns and to tell i truth i could see that too.
People say low sec is dead will this will bring more people into low sec for the fact they more then likey will not get poped 10 secs after jumping in.
But i do see the next choke point in the works any station with agents and repair shop.

Camps are far and between anyway, and changing gateguns wont be a invitation to the afraid pilots out there to suddenly come browse the -4 and below. They need more incentive to get there. Why would the risk adverse go to lowsec when they can gain comparable payouts with modest extra effort in a much safer environment next door in highsec?
Some stupid incentives: You can start by making crucial manufacturing minerals lowsec exclusive, just like some are null exclusive for one. More missions in lowsec, starting at L3's. This will move more dedicated miners/manufacturers/missioners to lowsec on corpscale, not just the random loner. It will also increase combat and indy ship demands since said corps will get themselves protected and/or shot more often.
Rework the damned bounty system already so that hutning pirates themselves for their bounties actually becomes credible. More anti-pies from high/null will move in there to hunt, and will also create incentive for players to actually PUT bounties on others and not have players put bounties on themselves like so many do just to have a "wanted' label on their mugshot.
So many simple things you can conjure up without giving it a great deal of thought and what is a change that's coming to lowsec? Gateguns.
