TBH, they should add "WORK IN PROGRESS" in big red (blinking) letters to the center of the overlay on SISI. Somehow certain people don't seem to get the fact that they are on a test-server otherwise.

In all fairness, it's not all too obvious when some things in their test state gets put into TQ in the same state.. ------

The old black/grey/orange lights scheme looks 1000x better.
Actually, if you look at them as they are now on SiSi (and screenshots don't do the textures justice, sorry), you'll see that the armour on the Sansha ships now has the subtle iridescence of insect carapaces, so the colours change as your viewing angle changes. The result is quite spectacular, but it really does not show on screenshots. You need to see them in motion and change your angle to them to get the full effect.

Also, in game if you look at the "black glassy orbs" on the ship, you will actually see that they are blood red, its a cool effect!

Seriously all this complaining when most the time i am sure most of you only see red crosses that you lock on and blow up. I personally like these new looks but as people say they might be placeholder textures. Not like these ships will be on your screens long before you blow them to bits anyway ------

To be honest I like the look of the new nightmare. Textures can be a trade up either way, but a lot of people don't notice the models got a look at too. Some subtle changes here or there I found like with spikes or the bottom of the nightmare (it looks better IMO).
This makes me want to fly a nightmare even more.

With all the talk of placeholder textures, im gona throw in my 2 isk...
Looking at the carrier and fighter bomber, the texture information is referencing a new shader I haven't seen before with some references to oil called TripleGlowOilV3.fx, meaning 3 layers of texture colour (which was introduced with the new scorpion, you may have seen the artical on this, they used to be just 2 with many different "parts" of the ship), glow (well dur...) and this Oil texture. Its even refencing some files that arn't in the current singularity build:
name: "OilFilmLookupMap" resourcePath: "res:/Texture/Global/U_Ramp04.dds"
Also the 2 below perameters with regards to the oil:
- type: Tr2Vector4Parameter name: "OilFilmFactors" value: [0.5273438, 0.1523438, 0.4960938, 1.4] - type: Tr2Vector4Parameter name: "OilFilmFactors2" value: [0.765625, 1.652344, 0, 0]
Now these are not in the information for the newer shaped ships, and so cannot be being used in the singularity server, infact they server is still using the old "DoubleFresnelReflectionWithGlow.fx", and so these have not been changed at all.
Now iv got my geek out out of the way, im going to eat my waitandsee pie before I judge them. Btw I might have some coloured images of what the Carrier and the Fighter bomber will look like, although they are still work in progress at CCP so im limited to that, and I haven't managed to utilise this new oil effect into my renders, so colours will not be 100%, but will give you more of an idea of what they will look like hopefully.

yup, i tried them on SiSI and they are really cool with the shading, they really do look a bit jove-ish
problem is that current SiSi build it just the 64 item version of TQ and all the new stuff like faces, sansha ships, hotkeys and market stuff is all gone (unless im mistaken and its a different build again)

Yeah, give me my cap back :D But realism in Eve aside (yes I know!) the light just shoots out some distance and then stops. What we've got is a light that behaves like a solid object. It looks rubbish!

The old metallic chrome models of the sansha ships give it a much more deadlier look. Keep the old models, they are fine CCP.
