The people who enter our lives do so in threes, and some of them leave lasting marks.
"Hona Is Three" is a new EVE Chronicle written by CCP Abraxas.

Nice return of a character I was curious about from the burning life. Very well written. --
My opinion is my own and nothing but my own. Before putting words in my mouth, it might help to ask for clarification if you are confused. |

Alright I've had it now.
Why is the only person ever credited with a chron the one who writes it? Why do the guys/gals in the art department never get any credit?
What's the first thing you see when you click the link to a chron? Art! And god knows I haven't read every chron there is, but in the ones that I did read the art was always at least as good as the text that followed.
Props to the art team!

Nobody is credited with chrons, as you'll note upon opening any chronicle in our list. The credit given in the discussion threads is for you to know who to ask if you have any questions about the story content.
On the subject of which, this story really is about three fervent beliefs of mine. The first is that each person really is three people: the one you know for the first few weeks, where you see the aspects they want you to see; the one you know for the first few months, once you see the aspects they can no longer hide from you; and lastly the one you begin to know after a few years, when you know them better in some ways than they will ever know themselves. I do not believe it is possible to love someone, nor reasonably claim to do so, until you've come to know all three. The second belief is that it's possible to hack something decent out of a rotten situation (which is not the same as "Everything having a purpose", a saying I very strongly disagree with), and that Hona did so after the events of Black Mountain. The third is that any story based on a misremembering of a Harlan Ellison piece is in dire need of being written, particularly if that very same story was based on his own mishearing someone else.

Another enjoyable chronicle, thank you.

Yet another great story, I enjoy those often, and even does the occational re-read. ;o)
I've got a question : Why is'nt the artist doin the nice pictures in the chronicles not credited ?
I've seen some awesome pieces of graphics, and have a habbit of studying them on their details just for the kicks..
So far i've counted 4-5 different drawing tecniques (Beside the iconic images), and would like to know who's done'em. feel they to need a praise..
Keep up the good work.
Kisses all around..
Chai..

I disagree, most of them would make bad EVE novels, since they would be boring and uninteresting or so generic that you could change a few names and most couldn't connect it to the EVE universe anymore. Things that work well in a short story or a chronicle don't always make good material for a novel. This is especially true here, since the chronicles are often picting people and events, that have almost nonexistant connections to the actual gameplay in EVE.
I'm sure such novels could be well made and some players would enjoy reading them, but they would leave the general EVE population cold and unsatisfied. You can see this same thing in affect on the popularity of some chronicles. Those popular chronicles tend to deal with things and places that are familiar to the players. Those things are the ones people really want to read more about. I don't think that for example a chronicle like "Hona is three" can ever compare to something as iconic and familiar to the playerbase as "Jita 4-4".

I have to say I have tried to get my ass to read a chronicle for like two years now but finally tonight when I awoke from my sleep. I took a cup of coffee and looked on the EVE site and saw the chroincle, of curiousity I opened it and started reading.
I have to say that when I read the chronicle I could visualize the story in front of me. Also your words here makes me think abit more than I usually do at these time sof the day 01:30 Swedish time.
I hope you write more interesting stories that really has feeling and depths in them. I will soonish order "The Burning Life" from the nearest local store. To read more about this.
Thank you CCP Abraxas for a very enjoyable story that gave me an interesting insight and a good piece of reading. I seldomly read chronicles so this is a very good sign. ------------- Hailgrains (?) hit, cut in crops! If one is to die, Another one is born. |

Great stuff!
.....
For years I have been playing EVE and this game is so deep and complex. Only until recently did I realize there were all these other sides to EVE like dev blogs, forums!, and back stories/chronicles. How very cool! It is just really neat to see a truly immersive game. I was really weary about signing up for ANY MMORPG...but I am glad I did with EVE and stuff like this Chronicle make it all very worthwhile.
Can't wait until Dust comes out and ambulation - talk about taking it to the next level. Very well written story Abraxas - I felt like I was right there and wishing it was even longer.

I'm not that certain - Wilco never really had a harsh look about him (more confused, really).
He's closer to Leonard 'Bones' McCoy really - both in looks and actions/words.

Very good story. I enjoyed it much. The ending just felt very right.
I have a question. If one wished to write a short story for Eve and submit it, is there a procedure to do so? Is this a privilege that is restricted only to the Mercury team?
I have a short story for Eve that I've been working on and I'd love to submit it, but I don't necessarily have a lot of free time to devote to being a volunteer on Mercury if that would be a requirement for submitting content. College, work, girlfriend, the works. Is there a place you can send content for review?
Please let me know.

Very nice chron. Beautiful per se, but really intriguing with the background of Black Mountain. Halfway between poetic and insightful.
Master touch (with a bit of a fairly obvious spoiler):
