Edited by: kongking wang on 19/10/2010 23:25:06 we have all seen drugs ingame which enhance 1 feature at the expence of another with added side effects. well why not learning drugs. before u all start ranting about this being op or pointless or not needed plz read the rest of my proposal.
<<<EXAMPLE>>> (all stats are just here as an example)
cognative ability booster large. (lvl 5 in learning drugs. drugs scale similar to implants)
provides a boost to a pilots mind giving him/her a boost in their perception for 7 days.after the effect wears off you may experience headaches, migrane's and, or death.
effect - increase perception by 5 points/ decrease willpower by 5 points
side effects - reduces perception by 5 points for 7 days after main effects wear off (booster skill reduces duration of side effects by 1 day)
drug effect does not stack but side effects do. if you choose to continue drug use (upto a max of 5 times).each pills side effect adds onto the next and the next and so on.

why not... all this pill does is increase trg time now at the expence of trg time later. and its not even by alot.
prob needs the days tweeking a bit but thats the only problem i can see with the idea.
imagine this. your corp just set up a pos in low sec and then realises they have no pos gunners. lets say 30 days for example to train for it. to be safe you place a couple of weeks worth of stront in it and start training. someone attacks. you need to quickly train up the remainder of your time so you pop your pills knocking of a few days of your training time and you complete training just in time to fend of the attackers.the pill wears off and your now stuck with loosing that few hrs training time elswhere.
a short boost now for a short loss elswhere.
its like a temperary skill remap

how..
you gain 5 points for a week at max skill with max lvl pill then loose 5 the next week. think of it in the terms of time. you gain 1 hr off your trg time then the next week it is added on. as for it will get abused, as i said side effects stack so in week 5 you would loose upto 25 points in that skill which = loss of trg completely in most peoples cases

I'm thinking people aren't supporting it because the drug could either become a necessity to have for skill training like implants and learning skills, or they are seeing no advantage in the drug because the side effects nullify the advantage you get by negatively impacting your attributes until the rate at which you would normally train the skill catches up to you and you're back at square one.
But consider some strategy into using the drugs and you can train perception/willpower skills during the boosted interval, and then switch to memory/intelligence skills once the side effect kick in. If you were to juggle back and forth between skills like this using both perception and memory attribute heightening boosters, you could finish multiple skills much faster in both trees each week than you ever could normally without a remap and dedicating yourself for a year to the 2 attributes you poured points into. The outlook of having these boosters in your everyday eve life seems pretty cool, and by putting some simple planning into using these things and juggling between skill trees, you can actually put a hole in the waiting game that eve is so very well known to be.

It's not up to us to tell you why this shouldn't be in the game, it's up to you to show why it should.

This is a booster, correct?
So it will be illegal in high sec?
It will boost your attributes by 5, according to you, for a limited amount of time... for the cost that this stuff would go for, it simply wouldn't be worth it, and so I doubt many people would use it anyway.
