i created sales order for billion ISK instead of million ISK by mistake and was charged 500 million ISK for broker fees. Has it happen to you as well and is there any chance to cancel/correct the order and get my 500mill back? |

I've sold faction heavy missiles at 300k isk before after a player clearly got confused at quantity and price. He bought the whole of Rens market doing this losing easily upwards of 100 billion isk. I'm not sure if CCP re-fund such errors but they never removed any of my ISK. I've heard of them doing it in the past for instance when an alliance accidentally blew there own jump freighter full of T2BPO's and other shiny by jumping it to a blue pos that had the wrong settings. I've also ninja ganked someone who got their shiny high sec ship reimbursed, it all depends on what lap your petition lands on.
Throw in a petition you may get your wallet re-set but it will all depend on the opinion and attitude of the dev who reads it. Kugutsumen - My signature insures that my post is always read by an ISD or Dev, does yours? |

If you immediately cancel your order (i.e. no actual sales are made), the GMs can sometimes refund your broker fees if it's in an NPC station. If your order is in a player owned station, you'll have to ask the owner as they are the ones who got the money. |

Happened to me a while back and while it was better for me to eat the loss and continue trading rather than wait for ccp to resolve it I did ask what I can do for future reference. They said to leave it up and they can take care of it. From the post above me with a different answer it's more likely going to depend on which dev you get to take care of it. GL |

Did you disable the warning stating that you are selling way above average value?

the 'average' can be severly skewed early in the morning before the regional average can set it if one unit is bought up somewhere that is way off price I believe. It's happened to me in the last couple months where it's a large difference from the average and the warning did not pop up although not as large as the OP. I'm sure there are a couple other unusal circumstances where the pop up wouldn't give warning as well. |

If you do 500+ regional orders and 90% of your orders are below regional average and your sell orders are ''rare items '' you get used to not looking any more you know ... |

GMs can't do anything if an order is cancelled or altered.
An order for a billion over won't be filled. And if it does get filled, don't bother with the petition |

I recently did something similar.
I left the order alone, petitioned.
The GM then returned the broker's fee after I canceled the order. Was also warned its a 1 time deal, so I deal with the little warning box now. |

I have to be honest here... I can't believe there is debate on this topic. CCP can't be expected to hold everyone's hands and reimburse for every dumb mistake if this is to stay a true sandbox game.
Like someone else has posted, you get a warning box, and if you check that you don't want to see it again, that's on you. For this very reason, I never check that box, even if that means I take an extra second per order and lose a second when firing weapons in high sec.
Personally, I have made some good buys by placing extremely lowball orders. I am talking battlecruisers for less than 100,000 just as a single example.
Now, if you are saying it is because of the mechanics of how CCP determines market prices, THEN I totally agree it's all screwed up, at least for someone used to trading in real life US markets (and the rules are pretty much the same across the world)
For example, If I had a limit order to buy something at a price of 10, and some seller came in and sold at a price of 1, the trade would fill in real life at 10, not 1. But no... not in this game, it's the complete opposite. I lost some isk early on from this nonsensical mechanic. myself. It works the same on limit orders to sell- total opposite.
In addition, the descriptions of order types are completely wacky in this game. It causes great confusion between players of what a "buy" and "sell" price is as it seems no one has any concept of correct real life market trading terms here. Seriously, if someone's first experience to trading was in Eve, they would lose a lot and be extremely confused if they applied such knowledge to real money trades lol |
