Not sure if this has even been brought up so, here goes ....
I am only addressing drones here as the actual recon strengths/weaknesses have been mentioned elsewhere.
The two Amarr T2 Recon ships, Curse and Pilgrim both have Drone bays of 150 m3 with a 50Mbit bandwidth. The two Gallente T2 Recon ships, Arazu and Lachesis both have Drone bays of 40 m3 with a 40 Mbit bandwidth.
This seems completely reversed to me and perhaps warrants being reviewed.

Curse and Pilgrim both have more combative roles than the Arazu or Lachesis, due to the former sucking the enemy dry using high slots) while wailing at them with drones, while the latter pin (using mids) and smacking with whatever is on board (highs and drones).
Now, if nos/neuts used mid slots instead, I can see why. And while it is hilarious to know that there is a gallente ship out there that has a hard time fielding five medium drones at once, these said gallente ships are going to be too busy trying to stay alive to attempt to utilize drones. Especially as everyone, their mother, and their mother's cat are trying to horribly murder them |

Pilgrim/Curse have drones as primary weapon system. Lachesis/Arazu have missiles/guns as weapons systems.
One might argue that a 10m3 increase on both bay and bandwidth is in order for the Gallente hulls as the silly 'not quite full flight' thing is a minnie trait :) |

amarr recons have their high slots occupied with neuts and nos so to deal any dps they need drones... which is one problem with totally underpowered cov ops legion, weapon bonus is for guns but you really can't fit much... but that's another case.
that said both gallente and amarr recons seem pretty much fine. so why bother trying to fix something which isnt broken.

While one can defend him self against 1 or 2 targets and still do it's cyno stuff job (hey hot drop?- you know it !)
The other is slow has a ***** with he's plate, has less dps than T1 boosted frig and uses Damps, chances are if you're not hot drop cyno and get caught by a single dram or assault that you're over expensive gallente crap finishes like "boum"
One is a very fun ship and you can do a lot of stuff with and the other is a very specialised ship useless out of that role. I'd almost say blackbirds are even better than arazu's or Lachesis (every one and his mother fits web/scram or disruptor)

(a little off topic) Think gallente recons are fine as they are thou must admit i dont see reason for amarr hacks to have such a huge dps Considering its the swiss army knife of recons . Does what all tjene other recons do by sucking a ships juice. First it makes you lose lock. Unless you use non cap weapons you cant shot ( falcon) No cap means no speed ( rapier / arazu) Then its get damage like a gallente hack through its drones. And you can also tracking disruptions or nano it. Why this isnt a 300 mill amarr\ gallente faction ship i dont know. |

Both the Arazu and Lachesis could benefit from 50m3 of bandwidth and 75-100m3 or so of drone bay. The Lachesis would also be improved by switching a slot or two to the lows from elsewhere (seriously, a gallente ship with a 5-7-3 layout?) and moving the hardpoints and damage bonuses to focus on either turrets or launchers rather than split damage (ugh). |
