I like dark, and space. Doesn't depress me at all. Many people would probably agree seeing as deep space images are popular desktop backgrounds

Why so much anger?
It reminds me a little of a scene from the Robbin Williams film: What Dreams May Come, in which the dead people are stuck up to their necks in mud with nothing to do but rant and rave about anything and everything; in short, wallowing in their own muck.
1. CCP has the MOST lax forum moderators in the industry. They let more **** slide than any other gaming company when it comes to their forums.
2. EVE is not a nice game with lots of nice people in it.
3. As with all video game forums, 2-5% of the players actually use the forums, and usually are the loudest, and most negative.
4. EVE is not a nice game with lots of nice people in it.

Then I don't post any more and cry a little inside. Still love you guys though, since you pay me for the best job in the world and I'll try my best live up to your standards which are really high.
On a serious note: EVE general discussions has not such a good useful/whine/spite/troll post ratio. Try the subforums there are usually helpful people.

Eve is a game that by its intrinsic nature attracts and peaks the interest of certain types of personalities, namely sadists and bullies, eager to exert negative influence and power trips on others. Normally they would not be able to act out their behavior in RL or even in other games. Eve becomes a "tool" (not to be confused with game) that can serve them this purpose.
With that said, there are many people that play for the sake of playing and mostly treat everyone with respect and courtesy. You just won't hear from them because unfortunately, the actions of a few jerks overshadow the actions of the many good. But yes, in the end Eve tends to be a safer haven for some of the most undesireables out there.

I've dedicated a lot of time to EVE and it bugs me that I care more about the game than CCP seems to. That's why I prolly come off as 'angry' sometimes. I don't want EVE to fail anytime soon. By the time we know for sure whether or not 'EVE is dying', it will already be dead.

On a somewhat ironic note given the preceding paragraph, the reason there's so much negativity here is that MMO players are notoriously difficult to please... particularly in complex sandbox MMOs, of which EVE is one of the few remaining today. That being said, some of the complaints and negativity are fairly legitimate; while MMO players are notorious for being whiny, MMO developers are similarly notorious for making mistakes or unpopular decisions that promote unrest, too.
Also, free-for-all PvP MMOs with looting always attract Internet trolls. It's basically a law of science.

I especially find it amusing when someone attempts to ridicule another by finding faults in their grammar when they themselves aren't particularly that great at it.

No it isn't. They are talking to spastics on a srs business internet spaceships forum, as long as they get their point across it really doesn't matter.
Spelling is irrelevant when the sentiment and context is accurate.
On the other hand, shiptoasting on an alt shows you have something to hide and shows how utterly incompetent you are. ~_~

It is to me, and that's all that matters (to me)... which is fine, because I don't give a damn what you think.

You say that as though I don't realize I have something to hide. I do: I hide the fact that I'm an arrogant ***hole whose goal is to sabotage and spy on major alliances from my Internet spaceship friends.
It's not incompetence, either, because posting this sort of stuff on my main... well, THAT would be incompetent. But please, carry on. You were simply looking for a way to flame me. Can't blame you for that.

This has nothing to do with subterfuge so in this instance not posting on your main simply provea what you had to say was horseshi*.
Feel free to get butthurt and defensive anyway

What about the arrogant ***hole part? That alone seems like a perfectly good reason.
Also, I don't think "proof" means what you think it means, unless it means whatever Lady Spank wants it to mean at any given moment.

Hi Cat,
Spank here.
I would have to say that, in your case, you are an entity beyond whoever your main characters are and do not use the persona to simply post negatively. As such you do not qualify as a shiptoasting spastic.
I would gladly buy you a pint in any British pub.
EDIT: Also you have the fortitude to run for CSM and risk what comes with revealing your real name (presuming it IS your real name). Such gumption is respected even if you talk a lot of twaddle.

I don't know what to tell you. There is a pretty standard amount of rage in these forums, maybe a little more because of griefers. Generally speaking though, EVE-O forums are some of the more helpful and non-elitist forums I've been in. City of heroes community is pretty much the bomb though. They are almost all extremely helpful and nice. It's a really easy game but the people are super helpful and nice both on the forums and in-game. Maybe it's just because the game is about superheroes/ At any rate, that's one of the biggest draws for that game to me.
EVE-O forums are pretty intense on the rage, but Guild Wars Wiki/PvXWiki/GWG forums tops EVE by far, in the sheer amount of rage and elitism. The community there is absolutely vicious, I think they made developers actually cry sometimes. Then again, the developers weren't nearly as involved as they are in EVE so maybe some of the rage was justified. But oh man, the RAGE.
Plus, the community there was so elitist it wasn't even funny. The general population in-game was extremely elitist as well, which is unique. You would expect the people on the boards/wiki to be elitist maybe but not the general population. Making the slightest mistake would get you kicked from teams/guilds, especially in PvP. Most PUGs in Guild Wars PvP had higher requirements than even the most elite corps in EVE. ====== Your signature is freakishly huge for this forum. Please resize according to the forum rules, thanks.
