Caldari ships : Kestrel frigate -> Caracal Cruiser -> Drake Battlecruiser -> Raven Battleship
Note that the old mining frigates will apparently become missile boats so this advice might be obsolete soon. FIRE FRIENDSHIP TORPEDOES ! Louis's epic skill guide v1.1 |

Agreeing with the other Tengu supporters.
Please do not train for a Raven unless you are fully aware of the training required and how narrow that training is compared to the Tengu. The Drake and Tengu will be your mainstays as Caldari.
That said, I have one other comment on this... missiles are boring.

Just train Caldari Frigates/Cruisers to IV and all of the small/med missiles and support skills (including Assault missiles) to III or IV as well, and grab Battlecruisers III.
That will give you all the missile boats except for the ones you really shouldn't be trying to fly as a newer player (those being the Raven, Tengu, T2 Cruisers, etc). From there you should be able to figure out what style of boat you like and where to go next on your own, or alternately decide that missiles suck and train to rock the Rokh instead. |

Drake. That hull can work in nearly all gameplay modes. Beyond that, there's the Raven/CNR for mission runners. Or, better yet, there's the Tengu for...well...everything PvE. |

Quote:GÇóNavitas, Bantam, Burst: long range offensive platforms. The Navitas is being overhauled as a drone boat, a role currently lacking among tech 1 small hulls. The Bantam will replace the Merlin as the long range dedicated Caldari sniper. Finally, the Burst still is bit blurry at the moment GÇô considered roles are mobile artillery platform, drone boat or a mix of both. http://community.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=72890
