Anyway, it sucks to be forced dealing with companies you don't like. And that avatar doesn't really get you into your EVE mode. Plex also must be purchased with nexon points. Basically I would have to go through shattered crystal or use isk to plex.
Although it's a work around you should not have to do, every month you could make a NEW buddy account. When it comes time to resub, instead of subbing on your main sub with your new buddy alt. You will get a buddy PLEX on your main, and you have an alt account for 30 days. |

Sounds like total and complete bullshit to me. **** you, too, whoever at CCP is responsible for this terrible partnership. And the microtransactions. And the altitus syndrome.
No offense to most of the CCP devs, but seriously, whoever made this call needs a reality check. This is how you lose customers. Lucky for CCP EVE is the best game out there, or this **** wouldn't fly at all. Whether or not you win the game matters not. -áIt's if you bought it. |

It was from the heart. I love EVE, but the revenue model is bjorked. With DUST being what it's going to be, it's only getting worse. And Nexon? Really? Nexon? Makes me angry. Whether or not you win the game matters not. -áIt's if you bought it. |

Not trolling. I'm just trying to understand.
Ahhh, Nexon. The douchebags responsible for ruining Atlantica. The microtrasaction [ladies of commercial virtue] who wont even sell you permanent pixels, they'll give you rent-30-day-pixels. Ahhhh, Nexon, they give F2P games that ugly cash shop reputation. To top it all off, they like to lie. When they were taking over Atlantica, they claimed they wouldn't do anything, and nothing was changing. HAHAHA, yeah right. They killed off the Turn Based battle system that had been the games defining feature and brought in a tile system, then got mad when no one wanted to use it enough.
God help you if you EVER have a customer service problem. ESPECIALLY a payment issue. Mine was solved after 45 days of petitioning, by contacting Paypal directly and lodging a complaint- Nexon finally deigned to respond to my petition then! Of course they screwed me out of my bonus coins, saying it was now out of date. Bug fixes in any of their games?
I recently stepped back into Mabinogi- and quit the same day when I realized game breaking bugs from 5 years ago were still active- no one but bots play that game anymore (shame, it started out a nice sandbox game)- of course, you have to pay 10 bucks a month to be a merchant/crafter, and only for 30 days, and only for a few items at a time, then another 15 a month for blah blah blah, housing, clothing is rented, etc). |

Terra Mikael wrote:Pre march 2012 anyone could do whatever they wanted. This is only since the ccp nexon partnership. So what you've done before this partnership doesnt really matter. So really you're just confirming the way things were, not as they currently are.
There's quite a difference between "ever" and "since the nexon partnership". I'm interested to hear the result from the petition like it was suggested a few posts above. |

If a VPN didn't work, you set it up wrong, or used one that used Japanese IP addresses. A quick google search got me this site: http://proxpn.com/. I can help you set it up if you like.
EDIT: Unless CCP made it so once you're set to Japanese you can't go back. In which case, you're ******. Can't help you if that's the case. |

If your account is now flagged as being Japanese and therefore can only accept payment via Nexon (dont know if that is the case or not) then a possible way round it could be to transfer your character to an account that was created using a VPN and non Japanese credit card. |

Would probably need Nexon points to pay for character transfer anyway. |

Nope. Nexon bought NDoors, which is now a subsidiary of Nexon.

Terra Mikael wrote: Dont get me wrong, I can speak Japanese, and read quite a bit, but not many people can read enough kanji to trust you are going to get what you pay for (or what you think you are paying for) as you click next/next/agree/next. To make matters worse, in your account screen, CCPs "guide" and info about this change is completely in Japanese as well. I can imagine. Probably native Nihonjin can't make it out either. Same as with account/billing agreements in English here in the U.S. |

Perhaps I didn't speak clearly enough, I was referring to their relationship with CCP... which is what we are discussing.

Update: CCP was able to exception me from the nexon tentacle monster, I'm now using the same billing system as the rest of the world. Unfortunately for all other Japanese players this isnt the case.
Liberate Japan from the tentacles, ccp. Reconsider this deal with nexon to provide your Japanese customers with the same options as the rest of the world. |

Odd that prices should be higher in Japan. I know it's higher in the EU because there's an additional tax that applies to "all EU residents" that's added to the price (I'm guessing that prices being the same in Gé¼ and $ is just rounding after accounting for the tax to make it look neat) - I assume that this means that a EU resident tricking the system that he or she should be paying in USD would technically mean tax fraud.
The account & billing FAQ doesn't mention anything special for Japan though, so I don't see why they wouldn't allow you to pay in USD under the "credit/debit cards - rest of the world" pricing unless they have some deal with Nexon that stipulates that Japanese residents must pay through Nexon. If they don't that should mean that "tricking" the system with a proxy is legal. I'm not much of an internet lawyer though, so feel free to correct me.
Sounds like a major annoyance though, glad to hear you got out. |
