So, in theory, if the miners bought enough shares of this company, they could take it over, vote James 315 out of office and turn his company into a brand new mining consortium?
I mean, it seems like a better investment for your 10,000,000 ISK, right? Oh wait... there are no actual shares of Experimental Fun Times Corp actually up for sale. Whoops! So what are people buying, then? A promise? Something in James's head? A post-it note that says "1 share" on it? I can only wonder. EvE Forum Bingo |

I think you know perfectly well what we're buying, and just write as you do because it is the obvious argument.
What we buy when we purchase shares is the right to vote on certain issues that James makes public and, more importantly, an incentive for James to continue running the New Order. We get free value from the Order, it doesn't harm us to donate as thanks and to ensure that it will keep going.

Correct, I do know perfectly well what you're buying. You're buying a lot of nothing. Blasting mining barges into nothing using gank ships which are, in turn, blasted into nothing by CONCORD. End result of all your actions is debris. Last I checked the average value of debris was zero.
I actually have bought shares of companies in the past. When I look in my wallet it reminds me that I'm a shareholder & I can vote. Tangible proof of investment with tangible potential for a return on that investment. Something other than a zero sum conclusion.
You, on the hand, don't own any actual shares and therefore you have made no actual investment. Your voting power only goes as far as James315's goodwill and sense of honesty, and frankly I'd sooner trust The Mittani. This thread only proves that too many people have more money than brains.

What I'm buying is rage, tears, strife and grief. Moreover, what I'm buying is the ability to enjoy the benefits of all of the above (my own amusement, mostly) without actually having to go out and do it myself. It's exactly the same reason I opted to provide some financing for ST0NER SMURF and his pod-popping endeavors.
The lack of any tangible shares or non-zero outcomes is therefore irrelevant. You may know me better as Corestwo: https://gate.eveonline.com/Profile/corestwo

I'm for sure not as wealthy as mynna but i did it for the same reasons. The content James is providing is entertainment and i like to read http://www.minerbumping.com/ every once in a while. |

Ok, now that is a fair and honest assessment. And if people want to blow their ISK on movie tickets then fine - but he should call it that and live up to it. Where's the YouTube vids? He should be promising a certain minimum of video captures per capita investment, then. That would be fair, right? EvE Forum Bingo |

James does produce, on the other hand, a minimum of a post a day, generally two. That's worth a YouTube video. He also produces all this forum banterage, which is pretty great. Then there's the ingame participation with James' organisation. I'm willing to pay for that. There's also the public tears, the butthurt miners and the hilarious rebellion websites which are amusing although they don't last long.

Well, I can't really say because I have not paid tickets for this movie, as it's not the kind I am interested in (it'd be totally different if they were ganking and not just bumping).
What I can tell you instead, is that one day I have sort of "created content" with them, as I kept baiting them with an Orca and they'd keep trying to bump it.
The first times they succeeded but then I found out some tricks and started "nimbly" dodging them. In the end I learned some flying tricks and since they don't usually blow people it's tricks learned with no risk or expense. In fact it's hard to find other guys willing to practice with you at bumping / be bumped. And that's a bad thing, because I have learned in 0.0 how powerful bumping can be. There are some insane guys out there who can bump you in *instants* as you come around a station. The more you learn in hi sec with zero losses the better for when you might have your butt at stake. Excerpts of the bits that make me uninterested.
"There's always a way for miners to avoid the destruction of their property. That's why it's essential that each time we successfully gank a target, we notify the violator of the reasons for our attack and how they can avoid future attacks. They can purchase a mining fee, follow the Code, and pledge their loyalty in their bio."
This is why I am going to sponsor some of Hulkageddon VI. I am not after comedy or roleplay, but after profits. My current hedge fund investors profits. I did the impossible to make profits to my open funds Investors, I'll do the same for the other ones. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

Dear James.
I go to mine ice once in a while to fuel my POS. I am afraid that this system is full of bots. No one ganks. No one bumps.
Unfortunately, it is far from the fray out in a dead-end system, Aderkan. If you ever get the time, it would be nice to kick out some bots.
Sincerely,

Bot issues aside, as you're an active miner and so presumably more able to put in the modest amount of extra attention required to mine minerals, may I suggest you instead mine regular minerals, sell them, and buy ice instead? The considerable price advantage will let you spend less time mining, or spend the same amount of time mining and make some extra money.
