"Containers in space will now open in the same location as the last moved window or any stack of containers."
Why last moved window, and not last moved container-in-space window? I don't understand why there isn't more distinction between different types of windows when remembering their locations. Every once in awhile I open a window and it appears in some weird place we're it's just in the way and jacked up, rather than where I left it. I always thought it was just a case of buggy windows, not the result of questionably thought out window logic. Separating containers in space completely from the hangar window would be cool, too. The hangar sometimes opens where I last had a container, then I undock and my containers now open where I moved the hangar window to. The problem with this is that I keep the containers in space small when I open them, so they don't obscure everything else, but like my hangar to open BIG so I can see and work with what's in it more easily.
HOT DAMN, for new text entry code! THANK YOU for that one!!!

Why last moved window, and not last moved container-in-space window?
It's supposed to say "last moved container-space-window", as far as I know. Containers in stations are supposed to remember their individual locations but wrecks, loot containers and jettisoned containers are supposed to remember the location of the last open window of each particular type, as of this client update.
Note that the full text of the entry is:
Originally by: Patch Notes Containers in space will now open in the same location as the last moved window or any stack of containers. Jettisoned containers, salvaged containers and wreck cargo containers have now all been tamed to conform with each other.

The below bug is still a problem, easily reproducible, and was introduced during the Optional Patch testing phase. This makes the 3rd time I've posted about it in relevant threads (example).

Please see that this gets fixed in Thursday's upcoming patch. It makes the Market *extremely* annoying to use (I'd say annoyance level is around 7/10, if not 8/10).

What about the range glitches in lv4 missions? Any word on when they can be fixed? I've submitted a bug report and it only said that "We are already aware of this problem, and have added your bugreport to the existing issue in our defect tracking system."
It's quite bothersome.

Thanks for all the fixes.
Will this also fix objects in space showing up when in PI mode (triggered by switching overview tabs), per bug #103038?
Will the fixes to eve voice get rid of the "you have been logged out of audio chat" issue?

Does all of this recorification mean that one day we'll have the chance to change our fonts?
Because that would be a pretty good patch.

Your logic is flawed. You assume that we are patching to fix something that was broken in the last patch. We have released many patches lately as we want to deploy the fixes to issues as soon as a fully tested fix is available. We do this because our players clamor to get things fixed as quickly as possible. I think that you must misunderstand the purpose of patching in addition to falsely assuming that every patch is to fix an issue introduced in the last patch. How do you suggest that we get fixes into EVE to you as quickly as possible without patching? And why does patching and improving the game mean that we should refunc your money? Our mission as EVE QA is to fix issues in the game quickly, and this means patching.

Is it just me, or does anyone else get the Soylent Green feeling about this: "Players will be able to decline this update but we highly encourage everyone to accept it." I am not trying to suggest that the patch is made Of People but rather that for myself, I will just skip it and see how it treats other people first. I love CCP and THE GAME but a lot of us have been burned in the past with the various patches, patch for patch patches etc. and you seem to be trying to 'sell' us on it. It the patch was constructed of quality components by skilled craftsmen and worked flawlessly, then why not make it automatic? What lurks in the code that you are "highly encouraging everyone to accept it" Hmmmm?

Edited by: CCP Bella Bee on 11/11/2010 11:11:30 The client update mechanism is much more light-weight than a full blown patch. For instance we don't need to build complete installers and numerous patches several versions back, we just need to build and publish a single 4MB update. That's why we like to take advantage of this mechanism to frequently release various UI fixes that don't require a full blown patch. The server is still running the same version as before, which is why it's possible run the client without applying the update.

Tranquility have now been opened for business. The issues with mail formatting have been fixed apart from one which leads to excessive indentation in the replies to EVE Mails. This is just a visual glitch that has no impact on the actual EVE Mail performance. We apologize for the inconvenience.
