Hey all, ust a few thoughts that may cause a tsunami of views beyond what I say..
Please bare in mind I have been playing this since day of release UK time.
1. I have not found one BP original. Where the hell are they.
2. How did the peeps with 'em get them in the first place.
Without the ability to get/find new BP original's this game will go down the pan, due to the fact once Factory/Manufacturing corps get bored and leave their BP's (After 6 months) die a horrible deleted death.
I'm sure this is something that needs addressing, but hey, what new, most things in this game need reviewing. I for one was looking forward to playing this for a few years not a month or so, been waiting on an 'Elite' game like this for years, shame., CCP could really make a big game outta this..

3 places: 1) The market (Still have some originals) 2) NPC Pirate Cruisers (allegedly, since I haven't killed a pirate cruiser) 3) ....
Sorry, I won't share the 3rd place. Gotta protect my own interests. But I will say you prolly pass right by them all the time ;)

Can't get em from NPC pirate cruisers, actually.
I agree that new blueprints need to be added to the game ASAP. I think that this should be in the form of VERY RARE tech level 2 blueprints that only drop from NPCs (not available on the market) and can only be copied 2 or 3 times. This would create some exclusivity in the market that is very much needed to spark corporate wars. Right now no corporations start a war with their competitors because there are so many different corps producing practically everything, and anyone with sufficient money can just buy the blueprint and start making it for themelves. But if there were only 2 corps in Eve manufacturing the tech level 2 Moa or something, and they were reasonably certain that they would be the only 2 with the blueprint for quite a while, then there would be a price war between them, which would either turn into interesting price fixing or a military war. Either way it would liven up the corporate game a great deal. ___________________________________________

Setec, I have to disagree. Most corporations I've seen will look at the bottom line only, even if they only have 2 or 3 competitors. The bottom line being even with the competition, they'll still be making mad money.
Most corporaitons are so wrapped up in making more isk, they'll go through great lengths to avoid going to war with anyone of significance. Sure they'll beat down a freelancer or a small corporation. But facing a even a midsize corporation makes them queasy because they know they will take losses. And losses aren't profitable.
They simply aren't fighters. Their idea of fighting involves price wars. Making blueprints limited won't change that a bit. I agree that the tech 1 bp distribution was pooched and I personally like the 3rd method of getting blueprints as it gives equal chance to anyone regardless of the size of their corp. But changing the supply of blueprints won't put a spine in the corps. War is too expensive and offends their sensibilities.
As for the tech level 2 stuff, personally I'd prefer if no blueprints were distributed whatsoever. I'd make those items require people to reverse engineer them. And I'd make it so that your simple research mule wouldn't stand a chance in hell of doing it. Though the occasional reward from an agent would be good as well.

Yup.
Tech level 2 items should only be available to reverse engineering specialists who dedicate LOTS of research time.
Making these BP's available as NPC drops would just benefit the lucky (and strong) few who can sit in belts all day long killing 200-300 cruisers.

So instead of benifiting those who enjoy witting in a belt killing 300+ cruisers, you're saying it should benefit those who enjoy sitting in a station all day pushing buttons?
That's a bad idea, there has to be a happy medium somewhere.
My only fear is that blueprints will only drop from the most powerful of pirates, thus limiting the chance of them being found to the largest of corps. If that's the case, CCP might as well hand the things out to whoever they want, it would be just about as fair.
My solution is to introduce a certain amount (say 10-20) of a particular blueprint and have the GM's place them in space. Weather they be in secret areas, part of a loot drop from a specific pirate, whatever. If there is at least a 'chance' that a solo player could find one that would be great. A decent blueprint in the hands of a solo player would open some very interesting storyline opportunities.
Does he sell it and make his money quick? Does he make some copies just to test the waters? Do pirates threaten life and limb to get it from him? Does he decide to start a small corporation and enlist some employees?
I think blueprints need to be controlled by CCP to some extent to ensure it plays out right. It's a fragile market.

That is the happy medium. You just didn't take it all the way to the end.
If tech level 2 blueprints are only availible from reverse engineering, ask yourself 1 question:
Where does the researcher get the item from to reverse engineer?

Currently? The market.
If you're talking about using pirate loot to reverse engineer than prices would shoot through the roof. Any hunter worth his salt will make sure he gets a wicked good price for anything he gives to a potential researcher.
My CU Particle Bores wouldn't go out of my hands for anything less that 5 million each just because of it's new potential value.

And that would be a bad thing because? The GMs manually seeding blueprints all over isn't feasible. Making the blueprints drops from the middle of a npc pirate battleship convoy is ludicrous. Putting them for sale on the market is insanity. What are we left with?
At least if the bps are reverse engineer only and the items come from drops (same way low level angels have low level pirate drops), at least there's a fair spread of access to the items. And the research characters do benefit as they would have a great demand for their skills. Instead of what it mostly is now: someone's research mule character they log in only to insert a new bp and pay the lab cost.
